How come Russia is doing okay ?

View attachment 67245

Government controlled media in Russia...our next door neighbour is Russian with family in Moscow and they are not being told what is happening in countries around them,

China-I don’t believe they have reported the true extent of the virus otherwise why the urgent need to build new hospitals in 10 days?

Other one of interest, India, very limited cases yet we’ve all seen how densely populated they live in main cities

South America-On lockdown and a growing problem with the virus.

This is serious. But let's not allow our outrage at over-reported difficulties to get us carried away.

Seriously, over reported? When I have to go to 3 supermarkets, big ones too, to find one bottle of washing up liquid I find it all too real. What kind of jerkoff stockpiles washing up liquid?? There's even been some bragging on this thread about stockpiling... My outrage, and it is sizeable, is at what I see with my own eyes, not a news article.

Nicked from a mate.....

Latest advice for HM Forces during the corona outbreak:

RAF: if deployed use your Immediate action drills, firstly check the tog rating on your duvet in the hotel and use your issued fluff- o meter to check the pillow fluffiness. If either of these are below regulation then speak to the hotel manager immediately.

ROYAL NAVY: Hot bunking - the practice of hot bunking should continue but must be restricted to one person per bed at a time, it doesn’t matter if it helps with hypothermia, stop spooning on board. Oh, and put your pants back on!!

ROYAL MARINES: Unfortunately the gyms will be closed and due to the panic buying you will have to cut back to 3 meals a day! This extra time will give you the opportunity to finish your colour by numbers books, just pop to the guard room to sign out a FULL colour pack from the duty Provo, they will be counted out and back in! Remember RED is not a flavour!

ARMY: Now this going to be difficult but you really need to start washing, just a couple of times a week to start with and build it up from there. DO NOT go full wash every day immediately as your immune system won’t be used it and you’ll get the *****.

Be careful out there troops

The Indian subcontinent and Africa will be carnage. I feel so sorry for them. As many of you have- i witnessed first hand their healthcare system and how they handle the vunerable. I can’t even bring myself to contemplate the human crisis

I was thinking about this earlier- where the **** are they? Never have they been more needed. The NHS is at war - and armed forces are invisible.

A colleague who is in the TA was boasting about how he was ‘scoping’ the number of people he had at his disposable and what resources they could offer. Whilst nurses wear bin bags in A and E. not sure what they are waiting for

Iain,
As daft as it sounds there is a process in place for the military to be requested to give aid to the civilian authorities.
they can’t just rock out of barracks of their own accord.
The other thing you won’t want to hear is when they do deploy there won’t be enough. The whole of the British army will fit in Twickenham stadium. With reserves Wembley. Take away Falklands, Iraq, Afghan, Canada etc etc and it’s not a lot of bodies. Probably enough to police London and some other major cities.
On the upside, there is a **** load of us ready if requested to assist. Close to a million vets I believe.

I would add Dave , a lot of people like me will be only too pleased to see them deployed ,the sooner the better , but folks be prepared when they do ,they won't be like your local Bobby if you still have one , These guys are there for our own good and survival , they will follow to the exact letter of there orders ,and an awful lot of people won't like this , be prepared

Agree Dave. I of course understand the chain of command- and I know That Every one is proud of all the armed forces- I have always viewed
Them as very similar to the front line NHs. I know many of them will be itching to help - but aren’t able to do so. Re: physical numbers- it’s so sad how there has been reduced spending year by year and erosion of both tradition and number. I am a keen follower of military history and the heritage of this country. Would love to see a few marines have a chat with those bullying old ladies at Tesco’s though...

I would wager the vets would do an incredible job...

Tbh, I for one can’t understand / comprehend how any “man” could stand aside without intervening. But as Loz alluded to earlier. I’ve seen 1st hand what humans are capable of. One of the reasons why I feel humbled to have found this community.
