Having taken onboard people comments re increases in yearly premiums of late , i thought i would do some checking pre my renewal in January, presently paying £492 with RSA via Aplan of High Wycombe tel 01494 427900 , after dicussing the increases people are experiencing due to insurance companies having record losses for the past year , my renewal was assessed at £599 for next year , not a killer but a substantial increase none the less , Further discussing the potential loss of business to them overall via Maserati owners , it was decided that they would re-evaluate all Maserati policy renewals , so do your self a favour when renewing quote the forum as your point of contact , it may well save you a bob or two , mine has yet to go through another revue nearer the time , now they are in the picture to the potential losses they may incurr

Good call - they wanted similar increase from me. Wouln't budge on prices so left them for now. Shame.
Bugs me when you have to tywist their arm for best price, when we've really promoted their business. I tell all my car buddies to call them.
Hope they have a change of heart.

Admiral, likewise, tried to bump me from £500 to £600 but after mentioning other competitive quotes and indicating I would walk they reduced the increase to a minumum.

Agree it irks that you have to push them to achieve a decent rate.

Some shocking cases recently of pensioners being charged the likes of £1700 for home insurance and when their children seek new quotes for them it comes in at £250 - insurers just say tough, your responsibility.

....its a pity though...that people are being taken advantage of though....hate that.....as per my insurance thread, my quote ended up a few pounds cheaper than last year.......:)

My Adrian Flux/RSA renewal jumped from £550 to £1100.

Footman James/AON have just quoted me for a limited mileage policy £475 for 4500 miles and £625 for 7500 miles
I'm still waiting for my A-Plan quote.

Intrestingly, Adrian Flux told me that "RSA have pulled out of the market"

I insured with the AA last year, and given my circumstances, was happy that their premium at £821 was competitive. Had their renewal notice through a couple of weeks ago quoting a premium for next year at £2,135!!

Needless to say I voted with my feet and now have both mine and Mrs Tee's car insured with Admiral. My premium comes in at £853. This also recognises the mod's I've made to the car.

To be honest, I am thinking about taking the £880. I had a claim a year back, and £1100 seems to be the norm for Maser quotes at the moment. In light of that, and the fact its run out, I am just going to renew with Aplan, and see what happens next year.

I have just had the same shock - Adrian Flux renewal up from c£500 to nearer £800.

Just called APlan and their first effort was £800 plus. I was told that following last winter (and I assume this one too), the claims history on these cars went through the roof - too many offs -= and hence insurers have all jacked up their prices. I was told I have a "perfect" record - no points for well over 10 years and no claim - ever. So a bit surpised really.

Any news on a scheme?

I went with Enzo's outfit, beet Aplan by £150 well worth a call. I spoke to Aplan at length, and its basically down to all these whiplash injuries. Every rear shunt ends up in them forking out many £1k's each time.

I had a rear shunt a few years back and I am still getting junk texts urging me to claim it. Parasites!

RH Specialist Insurance

Mines through Equity Redstar £760 and I have had a claim a year ago.

Good call Matt - RH were the best so far - £670.

Then went back to Adrian Flux and they dropped theirs by £100 on the spot to be within £10. So, I have ended up staying put - but much better off for 30 minutes on the phone.
