Well i finally got around to viewing the spyder orginally posted on this thread.

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/2002-Maserati-...item415277a723

I wasnt expecting much from the car if im honest. Following the info posted about it being here for over 2 years etc. First impression of it however were fantastic. A totally spotless car. Both interior and exterior were immaculate and looked almost new. Colour wouldnt have been my first choice although in the flesh it looked stunning. I hadnt called ahead, so just popped in on the hop to see how the car was being maintained so i think it would be fair to assume its been well cared for in the 2years it has stood there.

Still looking for 20k for it, with a fresh clutch and service although work carried out by his own mechanic rather than a maserati indi.

At 18K id be tempted, as i think it would be a great first maserati for me however i dont think he will ever go this low.

How did you get on with Willaim's GS, Andy?

I havent progressed it any further at this stage. I have had two fairly in depth discussions with the garage now, and they are really helpful. in terms of price i think we are both now talking from the same page. Im just not sure on the millage. Im still thinking long and hard about it as she is a stunnning looking car and with the black red piped leather its the perfect spec for my budget. Just need to resolve the millage issues in my mind ...........

Tis a fair point.

I've had the milage on my mind with mine, but I've come to terms with it.

My car has 33k on it now (done 3k in 3 months :)) - I reckon if I sold in two years with 35k on, its probably going to be worth £22-25k, say. With 50k on it, it'll probably still be worth £18-20k, so I think pound per mile, considering the insurance and maintenance, I'd just crack on and enjoy the miles. 3200's and 4200's with miles on still seem to find homes, at the right price.

Have you seen the 56 plate LE with 16k miles on? If you can find another 3-4k, I think that would be a superb buy! Its close to you too. If I hadnt bought mine, I'd definately be looking very closely at that one.

Yeah 35k is fine for a starting point, even if you add 25k in 2 years i think selling one with 50-60k on will be ok as you say at the right price. I could see myself having problems trying to shift one with 70-80k on it however.

no i havent seen that one i dont think...do u have a link to it?

I'm not linked to the car at all. Pluses for me:

One owner from new, who sounds like they've looked after it!
Love the interior - has a black dash, which I think really breaks up the interior
Private sale at a sensible price - will probalby have all the docs etc.

If the history checked out and they were happy to have it inspected, I really think it would be a great buy. I love my car to bits, but with this one having 1/2 the miles, if it had been advertised at a more realistic price when it was advertised in August (was up at £35k), I'd have certainly looked at it.

Sorry woody i meant internet link as opposed to you knowing the car at all :)

That is an amazing car for the money, and a very interesting dash board. Its almost a new Gransport to be fair at that millage. Although i could go to this price i have been limiting myself on purpose to a max of 25k as i havent ever owned a supercar and i want to keep a nice hefty amount for running and servicing, also/maybe/probably a larini exhaust :)

It does make me think however how much more you can get for the additional couple of 000 squids.

haha...., no thats cool, I think I replied prior to reading your reply anyway!

I agree. Starting at, say, £25k, every £1k more than that opens up a lot of different options. I really do think the above looks to be great value, so much so, I'd be surprised if ADG or Nuvola dont snap it up (assuming history is good). If they do, I reckon its a £35k car, retail.

Thats cheap for an 06 but its still has partial leather which is always hard to shift....Carbon boot lip is nice though.

I thought that.

Honestly, I think Silver and tech cloth look OK.....I really think silver suits the GS. Its a lot of car for £23k.
