Not normal on an early QP, so would imagine not normal for an '09 one.
Maybe check the rubber seal that goes all the way round?

Never heard if this on a QP.

Water will either run town wards so check the seals and grommets but water can also get flicked up from the wheels. On the 4200 it could also gain access via the filler cap.

Not normal.

You don't happen to have a sun-roof? Sun-roof drain tubes have been known to be routed weird and wondrous paths; when blocked they cause wet patches.

I've no idea where the QP's is - just a suggestion.

My QP (2008 build, an early 2009 S model) had a leaking boot with the first owner, fixed/replaced under warranty. Made quite a mess of the old boot liner as water ends up pooling in the lower storage area (I saw the previous water damaged manuals etc which were in the bottom compartment), but was completely fixed by the dealer before I bought it and has been fine. Apparently it was a faulty rubber seal and I was told not the first they had seen, so it can happen. Have you tried hosing down the boot area and seeing if it gets any worse? That would isolate whether the problem is water coming from outside (i.e. rain etc) or not. Maybe put a towel or something in the boot when you do this and see if any part gets wet? Is the lower area wetter than the upper? Is the car new to you, i.e. is this a newly developed problem on a previously OK car, or are you new to it and it might be a long standing problem?

it is known that gt's do suffer from damp boots as they didn't seal the rear light area!

not sure if this is the case on qps, but i will look into it for you. email me your chassis or reg no and ill check to see if yours is affected

I was going to suggest you lock a small boy in the boot with a torch, then turn a hose on the car, but if it's going to Marios then he will put Russell in there instead..!!

Just found a swimming pool in my boot. Very wet warranty documents. Have looked through the previous posts so a bit of detective work to do. First thing though was to take out the hinged floor panel so I can keep an eye on water levels before I identify the culprit. Haven't checked the rear carpet yet which also appears to get sodden. Will wait till the morning when the sun comes up!

Loads on this in the 4200 section (Odd that) ;)

Typical culprits are the bad welds under the rear lights, the seals in general. The rubber conduit where the cables pass from the boot into the boot lid, and on the early classic 4200s the antenna. You really need to get all the lining out to track it down. I'll see if I can find my pictures.
