Well yes, but didn't really think the section called 'Cargo Area' was going to be that thrilling having been riveted by the section on rear seats (which makes no mention at all of the folding capability)

Correct they're the 3 litre twin turbo (or twin scroll perhaps!) that is the basis for most 3litres it seems for bmw. Great engine, and grips so well with 4wd

Yes they got it right with the B58 engine.
Same engine in my M140i, the Toyota Supra, and now the S58 variant in the new M2/3/4.

I've heard lots of good things about that B58. Must try it out.

The E43 has cracking AMG seats and the upgraded Burmester audio is one of the best I've heard in a car. Love the interior and dual screen dash arrangement. Shame the ride is not so great.

In this category I have always like the look of X351 Jag XJ-R or XJ-L ( did long wheelbase have 'charger)
This one with the vertical rear lights, not the cheaper XE. Certain that a big tailgate opened on the launch model which chauffeured me from NEC to hotel.
The full length glass roof may preclude ladder carrying ?

Love it and can heartily recommend one. Just doesn't work so well on building sites and no hatch or folding rear seats meant it wasn't an option to keep mine to try to shoe horn it for work use. The XJL 5.0 V8 SC is a bargain IMHO. Not sure what else does what it does so well for £15k.

wow - fixed rear seats in a hatchback. Looking at auto trader pictures it does have a boot. Wonder which Jag model I was in that had a hatch back? The guy who used to chair sporting bears charity borrowed one soon after launch.
I still fancy one, but having QPV and now E38 728iL sport it may be time for a smaller car to avoid a hat trick of dad cars.

It is a saloon really just looks a little coupe/hatchy. Not sure if folder rear seats were an option in the XJ. I don't think so as lots of wiring and stuff behind the seats I think.

Singapore plate - love it. No diesels allowed over there! Even the old taxis all got scrapped.

How much is an equivalent motor from Mercedes, BMW, jaguar, range rover with a 5 year warranty, just had a look, a 300bhp gls Mercedes is £96,000 without 5 Yr warranty and I'd bet ½ of the equipment the genesis has

It's not as if any luxury car doesn't lose a fortune in the first 5 years

Those brands are established with almost a knowing amount of depreciation on them but a Genesis is untested in that regard

It sound ridiculous to say it but, It looks good value to me compared to the equivalent German cars, looking at the warranty and all the tech it has I wonder what it'd cost to spec a German like that

I’d say any one of us on here has to admit to being a badge snob if we take it as most use the term. None of us would deny that the likes of Skoda, Kia, Hyundai etc have seriously upped their game and now build high quality cars. How many of us would buy one for our own car? Some may get one for the other half but surely not for our weekend toy. I don’t mind admitting I’m a badge snob (people like to call it that) as I love Maserati, Ferrari, Alfa Romeo, Pagani etc. It’s the styling and load of other factors too. I have never liked Bentley, Audi or BMW though which are known as premium brands so maybe I’m not? I suppose it’s easier to decide on what we wouldn’t buy, rather than what we have on our driveways.

I had a look at one of these in the Genesis shop in Battersea Power Station. Incredible value for money when compared to the opposition. Luxurious inside, and all the latest tech.
