I don't know anything about it Gary, but if the condition of the engine bay reflects the rest of the car it must be worth a look especially with that mileage. Don't forget the all important indie inspection if you go after it.

Go look at it then get an inspection......

I think this might belong to someone called Jezza on ********************* - worth having a look back through his posts. If it is his, it sounds like a genuine, enthusiast-owned car.

Grrrrr - very annoying! I'll PM you with the forum info - not really a level playing field; you can post links on that forum back to sportsmaserati, so why not be fair and allow the other way round?!

Guys - as ever an awesome response!!!

PhilH - we have a common contact in Scarlan who I believe is currently enjoying your wonderful beast! He has been a great help in my search and, I feel, will continue to be so in the future - he also speaks highly of you. Like him, I'll be looking to import the car as over here in Oz, the prices are just plain crazy!

BennyD - what a star you are for that offer! Still a wee bit to go though and I need to speak with the potential importer/compliancer next week re-costs etc to see if it is still a worthwhile proposition. If so then I would probably like to take you up on the offer if he is local enough to not trouble you too much.

Dem Maser-have to say I agree with your sentiments but - as you say - it's been well documented the differences in opinion!!

nigw - got the PM and thanks a bunch! I shall do more research and take it from there.

Rest assured if it does look like it's financially viable and the car is a good one, then it could open the door to Maserati ownership once and for all!!!!!

Thanks once again for all your help and guidance - really very much appreciated!

Cheers

Gary

Hi Gary,
That does look like a very nice example indeed, although it seems odd that there are only 3 photos, one of which is taken elsewhere (on grassland not in driveway) & no interior shots.
If the seller is as nice as Phil I am sure you will get more info & photos on request.
Silver is a popular choice in Oz, yet a thread on the forum suggests red cars & silver cars are hard to move in the UK.
It might be a climate thing seeing as we get sunshine (no offense meant)!
25 degrees C here in Melbourne today with blue sky & sunshine.
I bet Will & Kate would have liked that!

Definitely Jezza's car, a good example. Have a search both here and on the other forum and you will find out some of the car's history - way better than a few stamps in a book.

Hi Guys

Yes , you are all correct. It is mine. Sorry not been on here or the other side for months. V busy etc blah blah. Quite a bit of info re my car as MAF says. I've nothing to hide. Had it for sale last autumn I think it was. No takers so thought I'd keep it but have only done 3-400 miles in it since so it might as well go to a good home.
I'll keep an eye on here again now.

Regards to All
Jezza

Hi guys

Just the quickest of updates for you....

It seems the old compliancing is killing the deal again. Without boring the pants off you (as I'm sure some of you knowledgeable guys know already) getting the vehicle 'complied' over here to 'Oz standards' (!) means new tyres, fluids, cat converters and speedo - a failry expensive venture in anyone's moneybut not necessarily excessive - however over here you need to be thinking of anywhere between $15,000-$20,000 for the work.....go figure. Anyway, I did hear of a company that would do it for $10,900 but again, this turned out not to be the case 'per se' and any which way I look at it, it would make Jezza's wonderful car go from $18,000AUD to $43,000 to get to me in sunny Queensland and that is just too dear for me right now.

I do thank you all for your help, advice and concern and rest assured I'm saving hard. Now I know pretty much exactly what is required I shan't bother you guys anymore until I'm actually 'ready to go'!

Cheers and happy motoring!!!

That's a shame Gary, as it's always nice to hope these cars find enthusiastic owners. Are there any options to have the work done here in the UK prior to shipping and then just have the work checked on import?
