Anybody use this sort of thing?

I use 2 acquagleam filters in series on the tap and then attach my hosepipe to the “out” end of the 0ppm one. The water in Kent is very hard and I use them for the final rinse. I do towel my car off afterwards, but not that carefully! Have never had a water mark. View attachment 87223
Why two in series? Our water here is around 420ppm from the tap and 0ppm from the Raceglaze thingy.

As others have said, ceramic will not stop water marks from hard water and won't make them any easier to remove, either.

I was told that if the water is really hard, the 0ppm one wears out/stops working very quickly, so using the 30ppm means that it takes out most of the calcium before it gets to the 0ppm.

Does that eliminate water spots whatever the conditions outside?
With ceramic coating you sheet off the water by running the hose over the car which leaves minimal drops that can be dabbed off using an absorbent cloth. No polishing or wiping necessary.

That makes sense. I have a 15 litre Raceglaze thingy and it lasts for about a year before the hardness creeps over the 30ppm mark where I need to replace the resin. Apparently water spots form after 50.

So, when you use the water to rinse off obviously you have 15 litres of treated water. When that’s used does it flow continuously with treated water or does it require time to catch up?

Continuous flow. The 15l refers to the size of the tank holding the media ITYF. A larger tank can treat a higher flow but my 15l had no challenge keeping up with a domestic tap.

Hi Guys,
I am thinking of either buying a Race Glaze filter or the one from Full Clean Centre. Probably prefer the Race Glaze but they only do a 7litre container which is treasonably priced (their 14litre is much more expensive). Full Clean do an 11litre container which would seem more useful. Is the 7litre one sufficient to wash off a GT?

More than enough. I have had mine for some time and not needed to top up the resin as yet.

I'm going to ask a(nother) stupid question because ICBATG but isn't the phrase 'mineral water' somewhat applicable?
Spring waters vary a lot from location to location. Some is pH neutral and relatively low mineral (Total Dissolved Solids). e.g. In the US for water to be described as "mineral" it has to have 250mg/l TDS

We are on a spring water supply that is acidic (slowly dissolves copper pipes, leaving blue/green stains on sinks etc.) unless treated but low mineral, so we treat the acidity through a calcium/magnesium deacidification medium. It does mean I do get some water spots due to the increase in mineral content required to adjust the pH - but nothing compared to real hard-water areas.

My QP had ceramic and I used to sheet the water off with the hose. Any beads left over were just dabbed dry with a micro fibre. No need to have one of these. Better to have a decent ceramic.
