They're an acquired taste, but bloody comfortable! Better in the flesh.

It’s just the stitching I don’t like. I am surprised they’re still persisting with the very outdated DB9 lookalike centre console. The real thing that would put me off If I’d got that sort of money is the width, I think I’d have an old Vantage instead.

Not that I had the luxury of that choice... but so would I. £270k spec'd is just way too much money.

I have a drive in one booked for when I collect mine from the dealer after it's service and some warranty stuff. I'm looking forward to it, and whilst I love the look of the car and will doubtless be amazed by it, it still feels like a ****-ton of spend.

I'm with AndyK in the fact that I think the old Vantage shape is one of the best modern cars ever, money no object a V12S would be nice but I still hanker for the much cheaper 4.3 or 4.7 V8 version.

The new Vantage and DB11 have grown on me, but I don’t think they are as pretty or have the purity of design of the predecessor cars.

I also do not like many of the interior stitching designs now being used by AM - for me they make the interior look too fussy along with some of the Mercedes switchgear. The beauty of the Vantage/DB9 interiors was their simplicity and the use of quality materials, eg stainless steel, wood etc

Late to this party but congratulations Robert on the car. Lovely colour combination.
Had my DB9 for 18 months now and still love it. Reasons for buying were I always wanted an Aston but having had a V8 it had to be a V12. I can fit grandchildren in the rear otherwise I don't need 4 seats.
So far running costs have been a fraction of what I was paying on a 4200. Adam prodded me into getting a Bamford Rose straight through with a remote valve opening option. Wow. Just wow. Press the start up button and the noise as she fires up has me giggling every single time.
Do I worry about how much I may or may not lose on the car over the ownership period? No.
If I worry about that then buy a 15 year old 1.2 Clio. (Which I just did for £400)
None of us need any of the cars discussed here. If you want something buy it. If you dont really want it you can find many reasons not to buy it.
Whatever it costs me is what it costs me but I have loved every second of owning it and life is short and money is bits of paper.

+1 on improvements but most modern expensive cars are much more fussy in exterior design. The new Vantage for me needs a dark exterior colour to hide the bottom creeper nose and I don't like how they have positioned the nav screen on both new cars. It looks cheap & stuck on as an afterthought and will be old fashioned very quickly as people move onto the new tablet based dash layouts that are emerging. Both cars are very attractive in the round mind and AM as a brand is a natural home for those of us frustrated at Maserati's inability to have anything to sell us at the moment.

I'm not a Bentley fanboy. However, at first glance, I think Bentley's solution of how to create a more discreet dash has some merit. At 3 mins 50 secs in the attached YT vid.
New Continental I don't think they've quite nailed it. But not a bad effort.
If you want to watch Doug DeMuro giggle like a school girl over a Veyron, for about half an hour, that is here .

We really do think a like Andy......When this car came up a few weeks ago I thought it looked a good buy for the miles and the fact its a face lift car with the better seats. It looks well look after as well. Its a buyers market for these currently and prices have slowly started to drop but good face lift/low miles cars are rare still under 30k. Its the one I would have to go and look at it I had 30k burning a hole Andy.
