Talking of winds... there is always 'Willy-willy', 'Xlokk', 'Brickfielder'....
Or how about a reprise of 'Shamal' - that would be my favourite...

Bora would be a great name to bring back.

Like said above, it will have an electrification element, off to see what electric wind translate in to Italian...

How did it make it into Car magazine though? I never read the article so not sure what was said

Mags can publish a render as part of an article. The render is based off the spy shots of the development mule so it will look something vaguely like that... I see it as media sensationalism

Hat in the ring: it will be a larger composite Alfa 4C with V6T-Hybrid and all electric.

Am hoping the Alfieri comes out as the name for the new GranTurismo with styling ques.

It's based on the 4C, but with a 6 cylinder engine. So that'll be the 6C then.

But I hope it has proper name, not just a number. I also hope it actually exists, whatever it is.

Or it might be actual journalism ! I think it's more unlikely that a long established magazine like CAR, and an equally respectable automotive journalist like Georg Kacher, would take the time and effort to publish an article based solely on a fan render. This is what car magazines used to do: give us scoops and insider info before the days of these super elaborated nonsense social media launches like Maserati is doing.

What's interesting in my mind is that the print article hasn't appeared on CAR online or anywhere else, which means CAR were either spectacularly wrong, spectacularly right (and forced Maserati's hand) or somewhere in between. If you read the article you'll find there's quite a bit more about Maserati's near term plans, merging the Ghibli and QP etc.

We shall find out tomorrow!

this is what the CAR article basically says, but over the lifetime of the new sports model (not all powertrains offered at once).

I quite often see established car magazines publish these renders in online articles essentially as a talking point to expand further on the brand and what their plans are (or their lack of plans in recent years with various Alfieri renders). Must admit I rarely buy magazines any more so I wouldn't know if they do it in print, would like to think not... if I do i buy a mag then it's often modern classics

Tomorrow Maserati are revealing the name. Car reveal is in May

I think you're spot on - both Car and Kacher have a lot to lose if this doesn't have the bones of truth in it. It's also not that unusual for them to not put their better stuff online for a while to encourage people to buy the mag.

Oh it's absolutely a render in the article - I was just saying I don't think it's necessarily sensationalism to write an article, online or otherwise, if you've got the 'scoop' to back it up. What the final car looks like is anyone's guess but given the details in the article (using the carbon tub 'techniques' learned on 4C etc) I'd bet it won't be wildly different from the pics we've seen so far.

Apologies if that got lost in translation!

I think we'll see more than a name tomorrow, even if it's just a little leg
