Just popped into say "Hi" after I picked up my new (to me) 2016 Granturismo Sport last week. It was a one owner from new car with 43k miles and full Maserati service history. The previous owner appears to have looked after it well with a no expense spared approach to maintenance. This includes an invoice for a new indicator stalk at nearly £800. In addition, before sale, he spent £4,400 at Migliore Cars Ltd sorting out a few bits so I'm hoping it will be maintenance free for a bit.
I do need to get the wheels refurbed and unfortunately the NIT (head unit?) is faulty.
I'm based in South East Wales and was wondering if anyone has any recommendations for where I might get the NIT looked at? Not sure if I can just remove it and send it off or whether I'm better off taking the whole car in? Also, if I do need to spend a few quid on it is it worth upgrading to one of the more modern after market touch screens with Apple car play etc?

Look forward to hearing from you all.

Richie

Welcome. Is the NIT loading and stalling on a screen or totally dead ?

If its stalling on say the logo screen then its probably just the hard drive that has failed. New imaged hdd with the correct software are available via one of the forum members who i am sure will pop up shortly.

Enjoy the car.

Thanks for all the replies so far. The NIT is as dead as a dodo, can't get it to even power up. Also, I can't take credit for the photo as this was taken for the for sale ad in Autotrader. When I initially enquired about the car I was sent over 100 equally good photos of the car which really helped make my mind up about the purchase.

You’ll have to go aftermarket or a new OEM unit which is circa £3500.

No GranTurismo here, so no direct experience, but a quick scan turns up some used OEM options:

Got to take care here. If it’s the wrong hardware version it needs a proxy align to make it work.

Not knowing what you payed sounds like you have a nice car. I wanted to buy a Gra.... but was afraid of the age. Not the car mine, 77. So bought the new Ghibli GT mild hybrid. ( still no idea what the M.H. does.) I only get an average18 mpg. Big improvement on my Diesel, a little faster but so much smoother and quiter.
Good luck and enjoy your new toy.

I've reached out to the good people at Cartronics who have been recommended to me. Hopefully they can give me some options and costs on a repair vs upgrade.

Welcome. So no light or whiring from the bit with the buttons on? What’s on the screen, nothing, backlight?

If you send it to me, I’ll take a look at it

@conaero
Absolutely nothing going on at all. No noise, nothing on the screen.
If you're willing to have a look, I'd like to take you up on that offer.
