Am maybe looking at aftermarket wheels, but would like to stick with 18s (ride harsh enough as is).
Anyone know the offset values needed?
(Or even a bit of education as to what offset actually is, I've no idea?!)

Formula Dynamics do a wheel for the 4200...it may have details of the offset etc.

Not many options for the 4200 but do avoid Chinese c r a p off the internet.

There you go.

Tried that site, cheers. But can’t see anything resembling an offset value? Should be something like 25, 35, 40, etc
EDIT: Sorry it looks like ET52 is offset 52 which does seem high, many wheels seem to only go high as 45...

Also weirdly my car has 265s on the rears, the site says 245...

I can confirm that the ET on the Gransport is 55mm so it's not a bus ride out. We know that some people have fitted 10 or 15mm spacers to their cars without any apparent detriment so the difference so a 7mm spacer would have the same effect as a change from ET52 to ET45.

If you want to be completely sure the offset will be cast into the back of one of the spokes of your current wheels.

This assumes you are also going with standard widths. If you change width this will also move the wheel out by half the width increase for the same offset.

So, is offset the distance the wheels stick out? And if you go from 52 to 45, will your wheels stick out more or less?

The offset is the distance from the centre line of the wheel to the mounting face. An ET45 wheel will stick out 7mm further than an ET52 wheel of the same dimensions because the mounting face is 7mm closer to the centre line (this applies only if the ET is positive which it is in this case). If you change width the same is true but because half of the width increase is on the outside of the wheel, a wheel which is an inch wider will stick out a further 12.5mm over and above the 7mm giving a total of 19.5mm extra.

On the subject of quality, a lot of aftermarket wheels are not made of high quality metal and so they can add a lot of unsprung mass to your car. This might compromise the handling a bit, but it's horses for courses. I would look into the weight of the wheels before making a decision.

Bearing in mind the quality of some OE Maserati wheels is very questionable, GS wheels are made of putty!

Personally I don’t like the standard GS wheels. They are really quite weak and on the fronts the centres are further out than the rims which has always looked odd to me.

I went with BC Forged wheels with the following sizes and offsets;

20x8.5 ET39 no concave
20x10.5 ET39 deep concave rear

And they look like this
