the wings are for a later year model I think, not the originalsVery nice indeed and actually older than me
My R4 can do everything that a van can do so I'm okay.

Like it or not .............its a fact with with several of their models ................especially the rear endsI don’t think Frank Costin would have been happy to hear that!
Mate, there's nothing wrong with small Italian cars or French for that matter. And what's wrong with Austin Princess's, they were fairy advanced for there time.Little French cars are supposed to be crappy, same with little Italian cars, if it’s not crappy it’s not a little French car.
But how could you replicate that lovely patina? ..There's guys out there who would spend a fortune fully restoring the chassis but leave the outer body panel's as they found them!
Dave
That looks great Tim. I love 'Patina' on the right vehicles and when it's not 'forced' There is a chap who frequents the farm opposite us who has done the same as you with a V8 Landy. A ground up restoration but left the body as was. It looks and sounds great!Yep, me! Series Land Rovers are the same. If it’s not crappy it isn’t one. I restored this about 10 years ago

While we’re on the subject of Costin and in the crappy car thread. From when historic motor racing was less poncy. Race your Costin Jag, sleep in your ** caravan, towed by a shittier Austin Princess. I wonder if there’s a French bloke lusting after one to go on holiday in Skegness in?

Yes those were the days - not quite a Princess and a caravan, but the same spirit and before silly money was paid for those glorious 50/60’s racers. We raced a Lister Jag, similar to the Costin. Zolder, Belgium mid 80’s - close so France to qualifies for this thread

No, but I’ve read about the shenanigans going on with Mr Hood - a modern day Arfur Daley. I see that he subsequently owned YOB575 - lucky bugger, I’m sure he must have made a bomb on it, what a magnificent carYou’re not anything to do with Derek Hood are you?
