Not sure if you're aware of the Marreau Brothers who took on the Paris-Dakar in an R4L. Nutters..95017

They won it in an R20 Turbo , here racing against some unknown ( Ickx) in a Merc...

Warning: There's some strong 'French' language in the video.

Is this Italian or French?

Actually a bit of both, it's a French designed Darracq 8-10HP but A.L.F.A (no Romeo yet) was originally formed when some Italian investors bought into the failing Darracy factory in Portello, Milan. The first cars produced were the old Darracqs (this being one) until the first A.L.F.A. the 1910 24HP designed by Merosi came online

A very familiar sight from my Manta-owning days in the mid 80s. Various engines, broken and fixed ending with a Peter Maiden Rallying 2 litre which packed a punch.
It's going to be a nice car 1988 one owner and only done 80,000 kilometres parked up since 1998.
Stripping it completely for a repaint and to detail the underside.
Thinking of putting it on Weber carburetors or throttle bodies too.

Check for clearance before you buy anything. From memory I didn't go ahead with fitting twin 40s as the brake servo was in the way. It was a road car so I didn't want the expense of fitting a remote servo etc. and stuck with a decent Weber twin choke downdraught.

Mines LHD here in France so no issues at all.

One of my Aunts had a couple of 504s in the early '70s, they seemed highly exotic to me compared to the BL stuff she had before, one was citrus yellow the other was orange.

Used to love following the RAC Rally until it became just the Rally of Wales.
It took some effort that's for sure so for the competitors you know what they went through.
Would love to say I had had a go along with many others.
