Whose was the Mini ?Yes agree Andy.
Had the 1.6 and it was the best hot hatch I have owned. For me the there wasn’t another out there as good at the time and to just remind you of those dungarees View attachment 130241
Spotted this amusing little contraption in the car park in Carcassone this morning … This Citroen Ami must be ideal for buzzing around town!

You're fiancée was little and all before the internet existed mate.My fiancé at the time. When we bought a house together my car went (there seems to be a pattern with buying houses and me without a car) and we shared the apple jack Mini for a year until I got an XR3.

I'm impressed that she can drive a mini...You're fiancée was little and all before the internet existed mate.
How did she reach the pedals?I'm impressed that she can drive a mini...
I had 2x 1.6 and 2x 1.9. I agree Andy but at that young age power trumped balance especially when your mate bought a 5 GT turbo!!Always preferred the 1.6 it was a bit slower but so nicely balanced.
The windscreen was an option on the road cars. Theoretically that duct in the scuttle pushed the air up and over the passenger compartment
Ah yes, I remember now. They did do a one make race series with the one without the windscreen. Very rare you see them come up for sale these days. Always thought they would have looked much better without the silver roll over bar.The windscreen was an option on the road cars. Just wait until you get to 60, you work out you've done well to get this far so might as well live any remaining years at full throttle, although you do need to stop at 10:00pm for your Horlicks, slippers and bedYep, that would be a concern but at 58 I don’t think that would be an issue as you tend to start driving like Miss Daisy
