So 6 weeks later and a lot of emails this part is not available from Maserati.
I have contacted all the recommended parts outlets and many more but sadly to no avail.
David Askew questioned why I dont get the part fixed.
Sadly I am based in N Ireland and the only business I have found to work on the car is Charles Hurst in Belfast.
If anybody knows of anybody based in Ireland who would be happy to work at this please let me know.
Worst case is that I will have to transport it across the water and find somebody there.
If you want to rebuild the part go to a machine shop not a mechanic. The latches are adjustable and if they are too tight they break. When you repair this make sure a slight push on the emergency release frees the latches. To everyone else, make sure your latches are adjusted properly or you'll get to do what 4wheeldrive is doing.
Depending on what is broken on the part , I agree go to a machine shop...do you have a picture of what is wrong with your part?
The only person I would recommend in Ireland for cars of this age is Ken Plant in Dublin look him up, sorted my 360 roof in days gone by... has full Leonardo kit etc., whether he knows someone to do a rebuild on a part I don't know- but worth a call, he will know who to trust on the island or beyond.
Looks after my Maser also.... but with Covid it hasn't been to him in a couple of years...
