4200 ride

Hi all

Still not put too many miles on this beast, but curious as to what people feel about the ride.

Compared to my Alfa GT, it's nicely compliant. Softer, in fact, than I was expecting. Seems better controlled than the GT, and much less prone to banging down at what I suspect are higher speeds ;)

Just wondered if this is the general view. I have no warning lights on at all :)

I was rather hoping to take it on a longer run tomorrow, but the weather looks like it'll be a bit grim. Combine that with the misting issue, and I may well take the GT.

Can't get the matrix swapped until 3rd December as my Indy is busy and he wants to make sure he can give it the attention he wants.

TIA

Ride wise if I'm taking the inlaws out in it I wouldn't have the sports button pressed as it is much softer in this mode, I also turn it off for speed humps to save my crumbling spine! In sports I have few complaints and it is about all you need on the public road. Under extreme conditions it can get a bit wallowy and under steers something rotten till you grow a pair and balance it up with a boot full of loud. I used to run my tyres at 2.1 bar but as I've only ever taken the outsides off them I'm trying it at 2.2 on the road and it is noticeable that it is firmer and better placed IMHO...

Thanks.

I've only had one run >5 miles so far,and that was on the M25 on a Friday evening :(

I've very briefly had it in sport, but I think I might take it out on Sunday when the weather clears up. Unless it's better than they're predicting tomorrow.

But beware that, in sport, the effect of the MSP/traction control may be reduced and it might be lying in wait to bite your a55 at the earliest opportunity.

Indeed, Elliot I will be keeping it in sport when I'm a little more experience about its handling characteristics. Daily trip to the station in cold, wet roads (with misting glass) are not really condusive to exploring even well within its limits, I feel. :) I quite like my a55 (and NCD) unbitten ;)

Mike (H) I did indeed watch your video when it was uploaded, thanks.

Ooh yes, thanks. Rossyl isn't far either. I certainly intend to make some of the meet ups as well! See all the other lovely cars :)

Yeah, the 3 of us should meet up. Maybe anyone else who is local, I don't think Woody is too far, and nor is Urbanmasser.

Cowper Arms seems about in the middle. Or we can cycle around Berkahmsted > Letty Green > Harlow(Ish)*

* Frankly there's only one pub in Harlow I wouldn't P155 on if it was on fire, but there's tw0 just out side and another in Hunsdon that are OK to excellent :)

Cool I am happy with that pub, http://www.thecowperarmscolegreen.co.uk/

Shall we meet soon? I'm free next Saturday 1 December, we could meet for a late breakfast/early lunch or just a drink? It being the Christmas season I imagine everyone is getting pretty busy so we could keep it short.

If that date doesn't work I could possibly do Sunday 16 December, but not sure.

Let me know guys...

****. Don't even know what day of the week it is now, let alone when I'm free :)

2nd may be possible depending on Mrs Catman, but unlikely
8th is out. 9th is possible
15th and 16th look OK ATM

If anyone wants some wine for Christmas, we could head to my wine merchant buddy: www.drinksoffrance.co.uk
