Thanks for the update just received Matt.
I'm in no rush for them to be right, looking forward to the next update.
Cheers.

No, Nico has not chosen to reply to PM or email sent and has been online so I know he has received them.

Ill give him another week to respond then if not I will post you your spoilers and you may wish to persevere with them or take up your issue with Nico direct.

Can't believe this has gone so tits up!
I've PM'ed Marti who received his spoiler direct and he has had problems with the finishing, and also a twist in the spoiler.
I've also tried to contact Silex840 in the US who also received his direct but fully finished, to see how his was, but no reply as yet.
The original one first made and fitted by Nico to his car appeared to be perfect, but this second batch not so.
Maybe the manufacturer has a special way of finishing them with a high build varnish, I don't know?
There was mention that one of the spoilers had to be remade, maybe Marti was unfortunate to receive this one that has a twist and our batch are straight?
It's a shame that Nico has gone quiet.
As it appears to be a varnish issue a discussion with the manufacturer who varnished his and Silex840 may sort this out "oh use xzy varnish made by abc" ...we can hope!

Come on Nico, do the descent thing and contact us, its not worth falling out over.

One of my clients is Jago the carbon and glass fibre specialist. I might pop in on Monday and get some advise.

Ok - thanks guys. As you say Matt, let's give Nico another chance to respond, and if Jago are unable to help [economically] then I'll be happy to take the problem off your hands. Thanks for coming back. Moz

I will test fit them all tomorrow to make sure ours are not twisted. My Spyder does not have a spoiler so its a simple test.

Matt does yours not have the 3 bolts? If so its not that easy to test fit as you can't get close enough to see if the curve matches with the boot (hope that makes sense!!??) as I told Mike you need to lay the spoilers down to lacquer them and the first few Coates need to be heavy with lots of rubbing between Coates hanging up and spraying doesn't fill the air holes up enough.

Good point Marti, I forgot about the screws.

Ill just make sure the profiles all look the same.

Good call on the lacquering.

I recently enquired of Leonard Brooks [who mix paint and Conaero bought some in another thread] about some wheel touch-up paint for my wheels and I took the opportunity to ask about lacquering carbon fibre. I made the assumption that we had tried aerosols that required too many coats. This is Leonard Brooks reply:

"I think because its the aerosol form of lacquer that could be part the problem. To get the lacquer to flow through the aerosol nozzle it's thinned in the can, making the lacquer thinner hence leaving pin holes. Our aerosol lacquer would be slightly better but still leave some holes, ideally would need to have access to compressor and spray gun then use a 2k lacquer which would be alot thicker and would prevent issues you having".

I don't know of a paint shop that could do this for us economically - does anyone else?
