4200 Coupe fitting a Bluetooth Receiver Help Needed

Hi All. Am wanting to fit a Bluetooth receiver to the NIT in my 4200. It has no CD boot changer fitted so the C3 mini ISO port on the back of the NIT has no blue plug in it. My understanding is that the C3 port is where the CD changer would go so I am thinking I should be able to connect a Bluetooth receiver to the correct pins on a C3 connector, 16/17 for switched power and 18,19,20 for the ground and left and right channels. Is this correct and will that work? Any help most welcome. Thanks

Have you read any of the threads on 4200 Bluetooth upgrades? There is a lot of great ideas on them.

Yes I have read several and have even been sent a how to PDF which is how I know where to connect into the NIT. My problem is that because I have no CD changer already fitted I don't know if the NIT work with just a bluetooth receiver connected into C3 instead of a CD changer.

I’d be fairly confident in saying that it will just work if you plug it in. There won’t be two versions of the NIT.
Yes I agree that is unlikely. I'll give it a go and see what happens. Thanks

Got a small module plugged into my unused CD multi changer port . Intended for a Porsche , but I figured it was the same Becker head unit , and the module would not know it is not in a Porsche . My phone instantly found the Bluetooth and I can now enjoy music and receive calls etc . Found on Ebay , can not recall precisely but think it was under £10.00 .

Hi and thanks for the reply. So I have purchased something similar see pictures and have taken off the green plug and wired everything into the blue one according to the bluetooth install PDF attached. My question is did you connecting directly into the empty CDC port in the back of the NIT and did you wire everything into the blue plug? Thanks

Ahh , I see your problem. Mine came with 2 plugs , which occupies the top pair of sockets on head unit . The green and blue slide together and forms a larger single plug which then goes into the unused multi changer port . Mine was intended for a Porsche , but as it was for the same becker head unit I figured it would not know where it was , as long as plugged to standard fit Becker unit . Had to remove altogether as in car would not focus .
Do not think you should have cut green plug away as they slot together to form a single plug for the multi changer port.
Hope this is of some use to you , mine works fine for calls and music . Good luck .

The one I purchased was for a renault not porsche. I looked at the one specific to a porsche and it looks like the green connector is used to power the BT module and the blue is used for the ground and left/right channels. I have the same connections ie power + & -, ground and left/right channel but they are wired into the blue plug only. The car is in the body shop so can't try it yet but I guess it will work. We will see!! Thanks

Sorry, not clever enough to send you a link , I have gone back through previous purchases and if you type the following into ebay search , you will find modules the same as mine .
"2 pcs Bluetooth Module Radio AUX Receiver Cable Adaptor For Porsche Becker MA2254 " .
That is identical to mine , I've just put that in , and it leads to mine .
Just plug in , power up , set phone to pair and it pops up .
Several to choose from , some come with head unit release keys .
All seem to come from China so could be a bit of a wait .

Yup fully understand but the issue is I have a 4200 coupe and I think you are talking about your GS which has a different head unit?

Have you had a look to see if the harness is already on the left hand side of the boot behind the letter box shaped pop off panel. Its been known to have the harness there but no cd multi changer.

If you cant fit what you have i have a parrot mki9200 on my shelf that i had in my 4200 facelift. Gives you bluetooth phone, streaming and aux in via phone or usb and an onboard memory card.

No but I guess not as otherwise the other end of it would be in the back of the NIT but I will take a look. The other thing is that when I toggle through the settings I see the usual radio channels and only one CD input which says no CD which I presume is for the single CD slot in the NIT no CDC input showing. I'll try my adapter first if it works great if not i'll be in touch. Thanks

Correct. Its seeing the CD in the arm rest which can be used for music cds or the nav disc.

The CD multi changer only shows as an option if its wired in.

So the question is if I plug into the C3 port which is for the CDChanger with my bluetooth receiver will that work and show up on the head unit display?

Depends on the model of bluetooth receiver you have i suspect. The loudlink version for example acts as a CD multichanger emulator.

If i remember correctly the loudlink limits the number of music folders to 6 so you can select a virtual disc 1 to 6 (folders) from the head unit.
