It's that something has changed very noticeably and why I can't figure out that's bugging me and I preferred the old noise.

Weird that. I mainly use normal octane fuel (seems little point using high octane as it's an NA engine) and mine stll pops and bangs like a good 'un!

Are you going deaf?

3 hours driven this morning, no change, small subdued pops and cackles but not the same.

God knows what's going on either something has actually bettered itself after a year of ownership or the opposite but it's pissing me off to be quite frank.

Anyone Teesside or Aberdeen to meet up and compare ???

You jest but after prob 17 months of ownership and using v-power most of that time and low of long journeys who knows I may have cleaned up a few things, lambda probes, some shite somewhere and now it's actually running more stock ??

I'm definitely not imagining things though

What X pipe are people using then?

I've been driving around Aberdeen where I know what the sound should be like on certain streets and it's definitely more subdued. Idle is quieter as well. It's annoying me

I'm going with the theory that one valve is closed or there is a leak/blow in the system somewhere before/near the centre resonator.

The X pipe can either be bought from Benny or made up by my mate Josh but he needs the car.

Or just giggle factor? When I first got mine I giggled like a girl every time I downshifted... but you get used to the noise and drama...
