Back in 2007 think I was quoted £360 at a dealer whilst the cambelt was out.

We’re is the price now, I assme at least 50% more?

Freaking highway robbery!
At this rate 3200/4200 will be pushed off the road due to regular tear and wear items going unavailable or prices skyrocketing.

I really hate this attitude from the factory and will never ever buy a Maserati again

Eurospares are quoting a water pump £695 down from £895 !!!!! + gasket of course - I am really unsure whether to spend this much money on a preventative replacement at ~40k miles?
What is even more worrying is the other preventative maintenance job to do while the timing belt is off is the Oil pressure sender but from what I can see no one has them any more !!!
Anyone know a source?
Thanks
Ian

Defiantly Loz, madness

If you were to cut an old one open and work out the resistance, check out the thread diameter etc.

Its either Bosch or Marelli, with a bit of digging you could find something similar in the Interparts catalogue

Dave

That's all been done, I cut mine open and measured all that. There's a thread on it somewhere.

I'll try and find the thread, it was jaeger internals if I remember correctly. Interference connection between case terminals and variable resister, hence the reliability issues. I was amazed they worked at all when I saw how they were put together!

Now showing £895 down from £995, what on earth is going on?!!!

What.. I think I paid around £380 from David Askew 18 months ago, so someone's taking the p*ss...But back then complete 3200 Sach's clutch kits were only £550!

Mine was about that last year
Wish I’d kept the old one as there must be a way to refurbish - I certainly don’t have the knowledge but somebody here will

There is a company on E-bay selling an exchange deal on the water pump, looks ok.

I would be tempted to go that route. Its only the bearing/seal and gasket that will fail so if its been replaced then go for it I say.

Have you got a link Davy?
