3200 Throttle Body removal

Throttle body removal for the 3200:

1. Undo the 2 Allen screws that secure the top cover plate:

2. Undo the multiplug connector for the loom noting that the plug is indicated on the left, you cannot disconnect the item indicated on the throttle body:

3. Undo the jubilee clip securing the intake pipe to the face, and pull off. You may find you need to undo the other jubilee clips and remove the metal Y pipe as there is not enough access to pull it off:

4. You then need to undo the 4 Allen screws that secure the throttle body to the engine. They are on the outer face, and are revealed when you remove the intake pipe (2) this image is of a near identical Volvo unit.

5. rock the throttle body gently to break the gasket seal.

Here is the reverse of the unit showing the gasket and the exit point of the fixing bots.

Or send it to me and I ll upgrade it to a contactless potentiometers which gets rid of the problems altogether!

Should a gasket sealant be used on refitting and if so what type? Also is it worth spraying the inner body with a cleaner/lubricant and gently moving the butterfly and refitting just to see if it's made a difference? Finally people talk about spraying electrical connectors with a silicone based cleaner - any suggestions what brand?

Just send your old unit in and a new one comes back immediately.(Transport time is the only limiting factor now.)
Units are completely dismantled with new bearings and seals, rotor sandblasted and sealed, everything ultrasonicly cleaned and mounted with a new anodisized alu cover.
This industrial high quality refurb is done at an automotive factory in small series, NOT at a private place.
After testing, every unit is plugged on a car for final tests combined with a ecu read out on the car for throttle response feedback.
