To have as a piece of automotive indulgence, I’d go for the 3200. So much more pretty, with performance characteristics to keep the driver interested, and a properly good manual gearbox.
I bought an LHD car from Monaco before the RHD versions had arrived here, and used it as a daily in London for a few years. Then got a 4200 when that was launched, but returned it to the dealer within a couple of months to swap back to a last-of-the-line 3200.
But not the easiest ownership prospect these days, with several bits being tricky to find. So if ease of ownership is important, buy the newest Maserati you can afford.
