3200 GT back from the scrapyard

It took me one year, but I am happy to say that the result meets my expectations.
I found this one last year on mobile.de in France. From there it was towed for me to Chech over Poland. Yes, these guys don't give a sh** and when the towing hook is missing the hook is mounted to the bonnet... Also the under body was slightly jammed from loading the soon beauty on the truck.
From Chech I towed it to Vienna, where I cut off the damaged parts and serviced it. It did not see any service in 10 years but it was also not moved in that time. The service history up to then was complete and many parts like dampers and intake-flap were exchanged by Maserati. 24.000€ bills for 60.000km's.
The price for the car was reasonable. But in the end it will cost me 3 times the price I paid for the car which is still slightly lower than a running 3200 would have cost me. Would never do it again!
Beside the bodywork there was a lot to do: Cooler was leaking, window micro switch defective, shock adjustment front left not working, actuator inside broken, leather needed refurbishment, timing belt past its age etc. Still need to do the valve adjustment this winter.
Hope you like the pictures :)

Dont think about the money, think about the fact that you saved another one!

Well done fella.

Thanks! Yes, that was truly a motivation for me. Now the IKEA effect is working form me. That means if you built something yourself it appears much more valuable than buying something that comes already assembled ;)
By the way, I did not do the paintjob myself. I prefer someone that really knows how to paint.

Fair enough, not many would attempt that. Sure you can prep and spray it at home but the environment of your garage is not suitable for a quality paint finish.

Thank you guys for all this nice feedback! :D
Makes me feel it was a good decision.
I hope I can improve her condition over time ore at least keep it in this shape for the next years.
It's a car I will never sell since for me it's the most adorable from its beauty and engine concept!
Let's hope gasoline engines won't be banned in the future ;)

Looks great and I like the colour
One question the headlights - the outside lens looks like it is set too far back - or it might be just the way it is photographed, I noticed it on the last photo you posted.

I would say this is normal. I even had it open because the only silver headlight I found was an UK version so I had to convert it to rest of Europe version. There is no possibility to mount it away from the front and I even cleaned it properly so it should be close to new.
