Evening chaps,
Been a while since I’ve been on. Had the 3200 garaged and SORN for the past 18 months or so, for several reasons, but life has almost now settled to the point that I can give her some attention again.
New battery and some fresh fuel and she’s fired up and idles flat; I’ve missed that beautiful V8 burble....
Couple of issues however..... which id naturally expect based on her being garaged without attention for so long.
Firstly; no throttle response. She’s got a contactless TB but last time she was regularly used, I recall having to frequently reset the throttle so I’m assuming this to be the pedal pot. Strangely, when depressing the accelerator, the idle actually drops slightly, then returns once the foot is lifted. This suggest anything glaringly obvious to any of you?
Secondly; in order to get her out of the garage so I can give her a good clean up, I knocked it into drive hoping it would crawl out under idle revs without any acceleration. She started to crawl, but then abruptly stopped. Same in reverse. It’s an abrupt stop, after about half a foot of free movement, so am assuming it’s not brakes locked on due to her being sat so long - also assuming not the handbrake due to the initial free movement. It’s almost like it’s still engaged in Park, but engages both Drive & Reverse and moves accordingly before promptly stopping. This a familiar symptom to any of you? It won’t free wheel in neutral either, so currently I can’t get it out of the garage to start its thorough clean up prior to it being sent for service and most likely, a new pedal pot.
Sorry for the essay! Your comments as always, appreciated if anyone can shed some ideas on the above?
Cheers
Ben
