OK I'm in.

I've just got back from 3 weeks in Australia of excessive drinking and eating and last night the scales tipped 18 stone!

I'm an ex rugby player and was 15 stone when playing competitively and have bounced around the 16 1/2 mark for a number of years. I have always been active and relatively fit but have done nothing in the last 6 months since getting myself in shape for the Artemis Quadrathlon last July (which I finished in 15 hours in case you are interested!!!).

I'm expecting a pretty rapid drop (maybe as much as half a stone) over the first 10 days and will then settle myslef back into a sensible eating / drinking / exercise regime and aim to lose 2 - 3 lbs a week.

I'm targeting 16 stone by end of April which shoudl be achievable.

Wish me luck :)
Welcome on board- you should have looked me up for a carb free beer or two!
Good luck Hawk13

18/01 Week 2 = - 4lbs

Total loss for January = 8 lbs.

Not much real dieting as such, but less alcohol and 23 trips to the gym this month seemed to have made the difference.

I’ll be happy with around a 6 lbs reduction in Feb. Fingers crossed.

steady slow progress which after a bit of a lax 10 days is pleasing- Australia Day turned into 3 days!View attachment 65067

@Wattie - is this the W number here your Body Water %age? Is this something you keep an eye on and track? My scales measure this as well, and mine fluctuates around 50-52% even when I’m really trying to drink loads of water...

Your body is really good at maintaining the correct amount of water.
My scales report the same as yours roughly speaking

May well find that we'd be the same on Wattie's scales.

Apparently it is but I don’t pay attention. Tends to stay around the same level I think.
It’s probably more accurately my historical wine % ratio.

Some good results being posted on here. Well done all!

I weighed in at just under 93kg again today, so no weight loss this week. However, the scales seem to think I’ve gained some muscle, and lost some fat, so not all bad news...

Total weight loss for me so far is 3kg (if I include the weight I gained in the first week of Jan) and at the beginning of Jan I said I was hoping to lose 10kg by 1st April. This means I’m a bit behind, but will stick with that as the short term stretch target.

Plan for Feb is to keep cycling, and to get back into using my rowing machine and weights. Figures at the start of Feb are:

Weight: 92.95kg
Bone Mass: 3.3kg
Muscle Mass: 63.40kg
Fat Mass: 27.05kg

thanks all, I‘m pleased to say I finally got off my ar$e this afternoon and got into my gym. I’ve written up a new weights program, and have set myself a target of doing this twice a week...

Any suggestions or comments on how to improve it? Some of the weights maybe a little bit light, but I want to make sure I don’t pull anything...
