OK after some discussion at Ace, we really need to decide what we are doing this year, Spain is out as the ferry's are very busy so we will delay this till next year.

Newton and I are (time allowing) going to do as much on this as possible with the mrs working on hotels.

So the trip of choice is to drive through Germany down to Bormio or Verona or Cortina or Lakes or possibly Venice watery bit (by boat obviously). The route would take in some of Bavaria and mountain passes. Ill do some routes once we know how many are interested in a trip in Sept. We could accommodate a different trip if anyone has any ideas

Time is ticking so we do need to decide if its possible and how much interest there is so could those who want to do a run this year let me know.

If we don't have enough takers or you are struggling holiday wise the option could be a Champagne run / Reims for a long weekend, with Château Etoges being an option and doing the Champers route for a few days, again ideas?

So the date seemed to be the 9th but could all interested let me know chosen option (or other ideas) and level of interest so we can decide if we are doing anything.

Thanks

Emblem in Poole facilitated a great trip to the Champagne region including staying at Château Etoge...their itinerary may give some nice options for the shorter trip.

Etoge is rather lovely esp the food...been using it for over ten years now.

When I get back remind me and I'll send out an email to the Centenary club members. I am sure the likes of young Robert, Blondie and Miles will be interested.

A dozen cars would be a good size.

I would say that I'm interested.

Work doesn't allow me to take holiday in July or August (blame the farmers), September is good though.

Both the trip proposals sound good.

Is this a blokes trip or couple thing? Would have to sell it to my girlfriend :)

As long as my Mrs has recovered then I'd be up for a Champagne run either with her or without, she's flexible.

Can't do Italy as I have a few trips planned on business and need to keep some dates clear.

If doing it on my own, would I be OK in the 911 or is it a Maser event only?

I'm already doing the champagne run with my family! :) but not in any fun cars as I need to transport 4 adults and a baby :-(.

So maybe I should do it again with you lot. But are we saying you can do it in a weekend without taking any days off work?
