Anyone wanting a blast? maybe we should all meet just the other side of the Mont Blanc and take the strada to Genova via Alessandra from Aosta. It is without doubt the closest, least policed, smoothest, best cambered piece of tarmac I have found. I managed an average speed (garmin proved) of 160mph for over 20 mls on one stretch. Love to do it again in company one day.
I agree BB....No matter what we think whatever you read about the QP it always tells you that the QP autois the better car....From EVO to the motoring shows all have said the QP was crying out for the auto gearbox and as such this will keep the auto prices higher over time......If you read this months EVO mag they write a little piece on an early used QP...They say its a great car but the box is not good especially in auto mode. They say if you can offered to spend more hang on for an Auto.............Know people read and take note of statements like this especially when lots say the same...
Me I would have any as love them all...
Ring up a dealer and ask.
Right...wheels and color are the trump cards. Guys...boys with money...mostly buy whatever if the sizzles there and the reflect in the store windows looks cool moving. Doesn't matter if its a '04...the key is the WOW appeal. Eye candy for some of us.
The mags etc have the QP wrong. They WANT/EXPECT it to be a S500/745i clone with an Italian badge which its not. Its more 4 door Ferrari than German barge but still the journalists don't get it. The gearbox/engine is the same as that in the Gransport so I don't understand all the complaints. Who here would want a Gransport with a ZF gearbox? Thought not. The automatica was a lash up for the US market as US soccer mums couldn't figure out how a paddle shift works. BJL has covered all the other aspects very eloquently already.

I see your point but the GS is a totally different car the QP to be honest and no matter what way you cut it it's nearest competition back then was always top flight Mers...yuk.....and the like. Maserati have to sell cars to survive and if it means they had to put an Auto box in the car to sell more I can understand why they did this. Its a business at the end of the day.......As I said me I love both...but then I would say anyone on here is in the know and gets the QP................I would hope.
As someone who has been able to take advantage of the natural depreciation of big cars (The QP and my 2007 Range Rover Sport) I just wondered at what point the early cars will effectively bottom out on the depreciation stakes?
2004 cars are around £23,000 - £25,000 independants
2005 cars are around £25,000 - £30,000
2006 cars are around £35,000
2007/8 cars are around £45,000 - £50,000 main dealer
2009 cars around £65,000 main dealer
2011 car at main dealer £94,000 - delivery mileage
So, what will the 2004 cars fall to in the next three years do we think?
Just curious...
Marc
Yep Ozzie...fuel prices is the biggest single factor to prices over here at the moment......
