Hi,

I've recently purchased a 4200 and have bought a vodofone pay as you go sim card (comes on a credit card size card). the actual electronic chip on the sim card is smaller than those from a couple of years ago and I'm finding that the phone continually searches never finding the network. Has anyone else experienced a similar problem or can I assume I have an actual hardware problem?

Hi Taliesyn, Welcome to the forum. Did you get the Maserati sim card holder with your car? It's old technology I'm afraid and so it is the older and larger sim size that it takes. When did you get your car? Hope everything is behaving itself, well besides the phone sim.

All going well thanks, a pleasure to drive. I'm used to a 500sl but this is a whole new experience.
Wondering if it is just the Vodafone sim, so will try O2 before investing in a £25 sim adaptor.

OK Frank

Leave your extra curricular activities out of it.
Bernie may be looking over your shoulder!

Hmm, mine worked with a Vodaphone sim. Can't think that should make a difference, and if it did I would think a difference message would be displayed such as 'sim card not recognised'. I'd begin be getting the correctly sized sim positioned in the Maserati sim card holder so that it's making the correct contacts in the NIT.

Thanks for all the feedback, I've ordered the Simcard adaptor from Maserati. With a £25 price tag I assume it's gold plated lol. Perhaps I should look at it as a gentle inroduction to the costs of Maserati ownership :)

Mine works on a Orange pay as you go sim in the card inserted and works well in my 2002 4200.

The semi silenced system on now was measured last Sunday at 123.8 but the unsilenced system was noticeably louder; upwards of 127-8 I reckon.

But Frank, I wouldn't get the full effect, bass, baritone, alto and tenor with earphones on.
