Hello chaps, as was always the plan, it's time for the Alfa to go to a new home!
1972 (tax free) 2000 Veloce, Alfa red with brand new cream leather and less than 5k miles on newly rebuilt and blueprinted engine.
Uprated and lowered suspension, uprated discs and pads, brand new Toyo R888 tyres which are amazing and look superb on the 15" Alfaholics wheels.
In my ownership, I have had a full rebuild of the twin Dellortos, high lift camshafts and a full Alfaholics sports exhaust; sounds great
The car stared out as around 130bhp, with the K&N filters, camshafts and exhaust it should be making around 150bhp and it certainly feels like it, it goes like a rocket (in period terms...).
The black mohair hood is as new as is all the chromework, the dials and gauges are the original and have a lovely patina.
On to the bodywork... There is not one speck of rust ANYWHERE on this car, top or bottom, inside or out. I am more than happy to have any check on a ramp, feel free to lift the mats, check the sills, the underside, the boot - the bodywork is like a brand new car, it is completely immaculate which is of course why I bought it!
I will put a full years MOT on the car for the buyer and the car is probaby due a simple service which can be done.
Any other pictures that anyone wants, let me know, I will do one of the engine bay soon - these are a few I have on my phone.
I drove it to Classic Le Mans last year and did the first 3 full laps f the circuit on Saturday morning. The car wasnot only faultless on a 1500 miles trip through the Loire Valley, it was amazing on the track, as good a car as I have ever driven and far quicker than much more powerful machines. It's a little rocket and sounds like an Alfa Romeo should!
I will be sad to see it go but it will make a fantastic classic for someone. Where am I moving to... Morgan! Just fancy a change
Price is £12k... probably a tough sell but there isn't one anywhere else that is anywhere near this condition and prices are rising, especially on tax free cars. And it's what I have paid!
