It is located 400 plus miles away from me, so quite a way to go,
but am not really worried about that...quite prepared to travel for the right car.
More to do with my availability (or lack of it really), due to being away.

Any updates on this?

Well, lot's of stuff been going on...am getting a little more exited now!
I have been doing my homework and finding out lots of things...
I sent a package of photos and lots of details of my Alfa so research could also be done,
We have been discussing ballpark figures,
my flights are booked to go and view next Saturday,
The seller comes down to view the Veloce next Sunday.

Maybe so Enz, but at least not fallen at 1st or 2nd hurdle in this.......so easy to be given vague or incorrect info at the very off and deal then looks dodgy and its not even worth viewing!

Too true P,
But in this case I have found the seller to be really nice to deal with,
he sent me another 60 or pictures including engine shots,
some of the documentation etc...and I reciprocated by sending him about 80 or so...
We have also had lots of telephone conversations, and it really looks like there is a deal to be done.
Can't wait for the viewings to take place next weekend,
just hope that neither part is disappointed so we can finish the deal.
Regards,
Enzo.

Have had a few days agonising over what to do...and have decided not to go ahead with the purchase.

Spent some hours on Saturday viewing the car in Edinburgh, and although she is in good condition,
I felt there was just a little too much for me to do to get her to where I would like.

Real shame, but my minds made up...

BTW, if anybody would like to see her, I am reliably informed that she will be making an appearance
at the Italian Car and Bike show at Hopetoun house this weekend...

Regards,

Enzo.

Well Enz...you gave it a good shot, and seeing it in the flesh is the moment of truth, sellers will always big up their product........but if it aint what you want, then no point.

What was he looking for it if I may ask....negotating about what , how much did you think it needed spent on it?

PM me if you wish,

P

Sorry to hear that the QP didn't cut the mustard Enzo, but I hoped you enjoyed the research along the way? Will you keep looking?

Yes Enzo sorry it didn't work out. It would have been very cool having two QP's from vastly different generations. At least you still have one and the lovely convertable....

Gutted for you mate , but when spending that kind of money definately wise decision to know your limitations , other wise you can just open that wallet and spend two arms and two legs getting others to do it for you , that can easily take the edge off the experience , there will be others mate just bide your time , they usually come along when you least expect it

regards loz

No worries Miles,
I certainly enjoyed doing the research and have a 140 page user manual now in Italian, as well as a few other bits and pieces...
that should see me through the long winter months ahead...heheheheh
For now, I have decided to do a few things on my spider, just to take it up a notch,
but I will keep an eye on the classifieds!
Regards,
Enzo.
