Agree......its very exciting Enz.......are you able to sleep at night?...;)

P

Well, currently, yes P...
Only because I think it will not happen at the moment,
not because I do not want it to, but I just don't think I am that lucky.
I am waiting for the QP engine number and an idea of what my veloce is worth,
then I go see the QP...he comes and views the spider...
If we are still happy and the numbers tally, BINGO, I will be one excited and happy bunny...
In the meantime, of course someone else can come and spoil the party,
but to me that is just something I have to deal with...if it is meant to be, it will happen.
Regards,
Enzo.

Are you happy to inspect it yourself? Or got an indie lined up?

P

I am happy to do it myself,
the seller will have access to lifts etc, as he is 'in the business', so it will make acces to the underneath easy.
I am already aware that the 4 electric windows do not work, 2 have the original Magnetti Marelli motors,
which I will look into trying to get re-built...but 2 are missing motors altogether, and not sure these can be sourced,
so will possibly need to find alternatives.
Also know that the suspension bushes are showing signs of cracks...so need to factor that in..
am also trying to learn about the de-dion suspension as this is new to me...
By the time I go to see her, I aim to be in a a position where I should know what goes where and how it works...
and I will probably take a nowledgeable friend with me for moral support :)

Good stuff Enz.....if it runs, looks as well as it does and is tinworm free....result.................you can fix all those smaller bits and refurb, bushes and hoses etc....for not huge cost!

No doubt you'll take loads of pics, so even if you don't buy it would be interesting to see just how its stood the test of time and the UK climate!

Good luck and we on the Sportsmaserati forum.....................hope you don't need too much...........eeemmmmmmmmmmmmm.....moral support...:)...;)

Thanks P,
Regards,
Enzo.

Im sure Roberto would love to attend, if he could be persuaded to take time off , or it was an evening/weekend viewing , with a bit of gentle persuasion i think he might give his services for free

regards loz

Enzo came across this site some time ago called the Maserati resource centre , they have an affilliation with the Maserati Club Uk and had a meet of the 5 generations of the QP one which they stated is in considerably low numbers ( i thought of your Potential purchase) definately worth investigating

No date set yet P, but should be within the next couple of weeks...
I think he may come to see the Alfa first, will know more after I send the pics this weekend.
Shame it is so far away from me...and doesn't help me being away a lot of the time, but I will sort something out.
Regards,
Enzo.
