Not really a Victor Meldrew type but today I was left lost for my own words so I've borrowed one of his…

I have a box of oily bits to send to France for another member and it will weigh around 15 to 18 kg by my estimation.

Armed with all the bits loaded roughly into the final shipping box but not individually wrapped and protected yet I proceeded to a local branch of an emerging courier company to have the box measured and weighed to give me an accurate price; a simple enough task referred to as ‘volumetrics'.

Popped my head round the door and asked if I should bring the box in as I need a price to send to X location in France, “ yea bring it in ereâ€.

So I fetch it, pop it up on the counter expecting to see a tape and it put onto the certified scales… No Mr Geezer picks it up, bounces it for a couple of seconds, drops it back down and proceeds to wipe some snot from his nose; “Cost ya abah £40 to send it mate, sin it it then?â€â€¦..

Off to ParcelFarce it is now!!!

Well Frank,

Its all packed and labled ready to be picked up by the couriers tomorrow... Not a frightening cost in the end given the high weight of 21.5kg
