I’m sure the title will attract a few groans but despite searching the forum I’ve not found a definitive answer …
Always drive in sport, obviously, but with uk roads in such ridiculous condition I’d like the softer suspension setting… can it be done?

Bottoming out? I need to drive mine harderIt is an expensive option but if you can afford it fit KW coilovers, and then you can leave the car in sport mode all the time.
That way you have the better gear shifting and far better ride and handling.
It has transformed my GS and made it far more enjoyable to drive. It even handles the bumps and pot holes with no bottoming out.
I also fitted a separate switch to operate the exhaust valves when I want.
I first took offence, then was brought back down to earth with self doubt in thinking that maybe it was just my years catching up with me.Yes buy a Bentley , various levels of wafting ...............................on a more serious note ...........you could look at increasing tyre wall size , that helps tremendously
Ah, I already see what happened. If you visit this forum by iPhone (which I do from time to time), then the signatures are not visible. Hence my above remark
The roads around me are terrible also so I don’t have sport mode on. I only switch it on when I want to stick my right foot down and the roads look good. Now when I bought the car without the sport enabled I could feel the clutch slip when changing gear but reducing the **** on mine by .4 made all the difference but if I reduced it by .5 the drive was catching which will cause clutch wear. You can alter the **** with a launch x431.
