I’m sure the title will attract a few groans but despite searching the forum I’ve not found a definitive answer …

Always drive in sport, obviously, but with uk roads in such ridiculous condition I’d like the softer suspension setting… can it be done?

Just to be clear you want
Quicker gear shift
Faster throttle response
Bigger noise

Without the stiffer suspension?

If so I guess FD DBW and a remote valve kit might do the trick

Yes buy a Bentley , various levels of wafting ...............................on a more serious note ...........you could look at increasing tyre wall size , that helps tremendously

It is an expensive option but if you can afford it fit KW coilovers, and then you can leave the car in sport mode all the time.
That way you have the better gear shifting and far better ride and handling.
It has transformed my GS and made it far more enjoyable to drive. It even handles the bumps and pot holes with no bottoming out.
I also fitted a separate switch to operate the exhaust valves when I want.

Bottoming out? I need to drive mine harder
Coilovers something to consider, but at the mo im chucking money at it just nipping it up & keeping it running - and totally convinced there is more to come

I first took offence, then was brought back down to earth with self doubt in thinking that maybe it was just my years catching up with me.
Yet i am reassuring myself that the roads were better ‘when i was a lad’

I’ll look at what boots i put on it, could well be the answer, but they are all new…

To go back to your original question, there is no easy way to have sport mode and soft suspension at the same time. The electrics use the CAN-bus system and every module is linked together with data transmitting between them.

Tis a shame - I'd like to keep it as close to stock as possible. Are my tyres not helping? All new last year so not eager to change either...

Michellin Pilot Sport 4S
265/30 ZR19 rear
265/35 ZR19 front

Handling is great, just the ruddy roads...

I found Michelins firm on my GS, but it’s the nature of the beast, the wheels look ace but the tyres are thin.

My 4200 is on Goodyear Eagles and I do not notice a huge difference when on sports suspension mode.

The roads around me are terrible also so I don’t have sport mode on. I only switch it on when I want to stick my right foot down and the roads look good. Now when I bought the car without the sport enabled I could feel the clutch slip when changing gear but reducing the pis on mine by .4 made all the difference but if I reduced it by .5 the drive was catching which will cause clutch wear. You can alter the pis with a launch x431.

It's PIS. Only one 'S' ;)
