Group B was mad but the sight and sound was awesome, use to follow the RAC Rally every year but 1985 with the fire breathing Lancia S4 ripping up the Northern forest stages was something else

Interesting psychological question. Possibly “better the devil you know than the devil you don’t”. Personally I would have taken the first slot though and parked as much to the left as possible….;)

But that’s nearer the entrance so more chance of and adjacent fatty

Probably been said before but this is a rant - as it’s probably been said already I should have read all the rants on the rant thread

Anyway its 1900 on a pleasant early summer/late spring (rant open to question on exact timing) I am walking from a well known south London major station to catch an omnibus home.
20m in front of me are 3 uniformed members of the Constabulary wearing stab vests and armed with this yellow water pistol things - larger than life and hard as F##k

As I follow in the halo of righteousness their presence suggests I am bowled over by the stench of 2 people smoking what is probably the biggest joint I have seen!

Not a word is said nor a stride broken as they head for the car parked on a single yellow line reaching into their pocket for the compulsory £60 - pay now or go to jail fine.

Today is voting day I may as well vote for the monster raving looney party for all the good it will do

WORKING FROM HOME EXCUSES !!

We are having to deal with various council, health service and government departments to get our Ukrainian guests correctly registered here in the UK.

I am so frustrated, almost every call starts with an automated message that basically says “because of covid and people working from home the service you are going to why it’s cr4p”.

When you do get through to a human, most conversation starts withe excuses about working from home and not havfull access to relvent information or being able to transfer you to someone who can help.

The rules have never been that you have to work from home, they have been work from home if you can, if you can’t do your job working from home you can and should go to work.

These people should GET BACK TO WORK !!

And don’t get me talking about our local GP

Love this and also getting really fed up with excuses, like many I couldn't "work from home" at all so I do get mildy frustrated when offered as an excuse. That said when renewing my car insurance over the phone I did smile when you could hear the clearly frustrated other parent remonstrating to a toddler who just would not do as he was told!

Correct - these do gooders and stay at home cos its easy should go back to work - Business should start an opt in or ship out attitude, come to work or don't bother.

I ordered some furniture from a well known Swedish company in August last year - because of 'Covid' the wardrobe carcasses were not in stock, eta Xmas 2021.
OK fair one.
We are now May 22 - current eta is July 2022, this has increased month by month from Feb to March to April etc etc... when you eventually call customer services they say:

1 Because of Covid
2 Because of Brexit
3 Because of "The war in Ukraine"

Just wondered what is next

I tried calling a doctor to see if it would help................................

I find I am equally ineffective whether I am working at home or in the office. I suspect that while it is there as a reason, some folk will use it as to cause of poor performance. If they were in the office, there would probably be a different excuse for the same result.

I bet you didn’t get through ;)
YES I did
me
“Hello - I want to see a doctor”
Them
“Why?”
Me
I’m not well.
Them - “what’s the matter?”
Me - “I told you I’m not well”
Them “but you need to tell me so I can tell the doctor”
Me “are you a doctor?” No “then I can’t tell you”
Them “ why do you need a doctor”
Me “ I told you I’m not well”
Them “look if you can’t tell me what’s wrong - I can’t tell the doctor”
Me “How did you know?”
Them “Know what?”
“What’s wrong”
“What IS wrong?”
Me (smugly) “ people don’t listen to me”

end of call

I am not a man given to rants by nature, and my hobbies and belief structure further accentuates my non-rantiness, but today I feel that I must vent a small amount of frustration. A rantette, if you will.

Lift and peel tops. Some of the more macho members of our community may not have come across one so, for the avoidance of doubt:

No when these were first introduced, they were fabulous. Quick, easy, clean. A Tetrapak for the new millenium, perhaps. But for the last couple of years WHAT THE ACTUAL ******* *ITY ******* ******** IS GOING ON? NOT ONE OF THE ******* THINGS HAS WORKED FOR YEARS! YOU'RE JUST LEFT WITH A TRANSLUCENT FILM AND NO WAY (SHORT OF CUTTING THE *HOLE THING) TO GET INTO THE PRODUCT>
FFFFFFFFFS!

And breathe.

Thankyou for listening
