mine had a lot more rust in 1980! The next Ford I bought was the Fiesta for my lad when he split with his Mrs. Just to get him mobile.

it was just unbelievably cheap, < 50k miles and Ghia spec for £350 did him nearly 5 years, it is SORN atm awaiting a suitable scrap page scheme (I feel Rishy will be throwing out a good one after lockdown).

I had a Metro Vanden Plas, there’s something about OAP spec cars!

Not so sure about a scrapage scheme. Apparently the car industry has significantly underestimated demand for new cars and there’s now a worldwide shortage of components as they reduced their orders last year and gearing back up is a long process
