Breaking news..... Boris Johnson has just been taken to intensive care now! Unbelievable how this dreadful illness just gets a grip.... :(
Just saw that.

Extremely worrying, for him of course, but consequences for the country as well

It's the indiscriminate nature of the desiese which gets me. Seems to be a complete and utter lottery how everyone reacts to the illness.
I just hope that he pulls through this and quickly. I wish him well.

It really is. Let’s hope they can bring him through.

It’s not good odds if he has gone to ICU sadly. I really hope he is ok, but I wouldn’t put any significant money on it. Lost the first of my colleagues today- young heart surgeon - 5 days from symptoms to death. It really is a lottery it seems- no warning , no predictive features in some cases. Fingers crossed for Boris. Like him or not no one deserves this.

Using my extensive medical training (emergency first aid at work) and past experience with the flu, Boris having the symptoms and running the country are not mutually conducive to recovery. The man needed and should have had rest.
It's almost reflective of the lockdown. He should have been relieved of all duties, concentrate on getting himself better so that he returns in the week.
It still worries me that Raab is saying that he's in touch with Boris. Let him recover.

Sorry to hear about your colleague, as you say, no one deserves this.

Oddly enough we rewatched Kes last night, filmed in Barnsley. Was reading on IMDB USA release had simplified dialogue/accents - what is it with Americans? We can understand their oddball accents, are ours that much more impenetrable?
There's a film on netflix called cardboard gangsters set in ireland , I had to turn it off as I couldn't understand a word they were saying , I even looked to see how you get subtitles up on netflix so it's not just americans that have problems with foreign accents

I've always found regional Irish to be a lot easier to understand than Northern English. It might be because my Gran was Irish and my prospective father-in-law was a sandgrounder. Just in case I hadn't mentioned it previously, I'm a Kiwi. ;)

I'd just like to thank you all for the kind thoughts that everyone on the forum has sent regarding my work with the ventilators. I am just part of a very small team that are working on this and I thank you all for the encouragement. I hope that I can make a difference to the outcome of this ****** situation. I'm a bit tired now and am off to bed.

Stay healthy everyone.

I think im going mad , Cant believe what ive just heard on the Good morning telly Piers Morgan , advocating that Tony Blair , Gordon Brown, Teresa May, and David Cameron should be brought back to form either an interim Government or advisory panel to the government because Boris will need complete rest (rightly so ) they say there will be no complete leadership , will or can these remainers stoop any lower, I ve heard it all now and found myself shouting abuse at the box ........ All of those people were voted out by the general public specifically because of their failings , and there was Piers congratulating Gordon Brown over his financial prowess for his managing of the 2008 FC , feck he sold our gold reserves off at the lowest price ever .................................whats happening guys help me out :suicide:
