Getting back to the main theme of this thread an Opel Ascona 400 would be my rally car of choice loved them back in the day and even had a Ascona 2.0 SR as a daily driver.

Very nearly bought a Vauxhall Manta GTE in 85 would have been my first new car, always loved fast back style motors. Can’t remember why I didn’t buy it in the end. I suspect it was Italian or the Greek woman in my life at that point!

Has to be the classic Impreza (any of the limited edition models) or an Evo IV or V for me. Really loved those cars and would still love to own one if it was right spec and condition....and price
