Okay chap's how unfit am I ?
3.6 kilometres done on the Nordic Trainer burning 300 calories in 21 minutes.
What kind of stats do you lads do ?

Not sure it's a great measure of fitness. The classic is how fast your heart rate returns to resting after exertion.

FWIW most people burn about 15kcal a minute when exercising at a sensible level (not quite sure how this can be so, but having discussed it with my PT I'm prepared to take his word) so you're pretty much spot on.

Certainly when I'm running I'd hit pretty much that burn rate.

If you want a measure of Cardio Fitness against peers you may be interested in acquiring a fitbit. I wear mine all the time as it builds up a picture of your exercise, sleep habits, resting/working heartbeat, cals burnt etc also give tips on how to improve.

It has a food/water intake programme v calls too and a weight loss tracker but I don’t use that as it involves measuring meals which is not something I can be bothered with.
I let the mirror judge.

It also offers the ability to set a daily step goal and prompts every hour. I know some are doubtful about the 10k steps etc but this does provide an incentive for the inactive to get moving- which must be beneficial and a good starting point for some.

Within the App it plots your fitness level against others in your age group, presumably from data its acquiring from all users as well as yourself and certain accepted standards.

Not sure if other fitness watches do the same?

I weighed myself last night and have got a half kilo off, not a morning weight so not on the record but indicative it is going in the right direction.

Really being careful and not had any booze since Christmas day and that was one small beer and not missing it.
Being careful on eating especially portion size along with daily training on the Nordic cross trainer.

Checking in after a very good week.
1900-12/1300 fast done daily, 6 days of hourly exercise, clean eating, no booze for 5 days and a fab junk lunch yesterday and a few drinks as a reward....skipped evening meal.

Down almost a couple of Kg and .3% body fat. Progress from here will be slower.
67.5 kg, 10.5%bf according to scales.

Well done to everyone that’s checked in. Keep it up!

I’m pretty sure I can only manage about 9-10 cals a minute, even skipping. The extra 5 would be great if I could get em!

From 82kg to 79.9kg when I weighed in today.

Been keeping to 16 hours per day fast and little other than the odd vodka cranberry shot alcohol wise. I was away all week for work staying in a hotel so not the most healthy diet but I have been counting calories and keeping it to less than 2000kcal per day. Done some exercise planning to step it up as I am a little rusty so I am trying to ease myself in to avoid an injury

One or two things not mentioned yet but after vigorous exercise,. (heart rate near enough 80% of max for 20 minutes) then you could continue to burn up to an additional 10 calories per hour (every little helps).
Also turning down central heating helps. As we use a great deal of energy heating our bodies then increasing that energy use is helpful. I don't mean live in a fridge, just 1 degree down on the central heating would help.
January 2019 - 112kg, January 2020, 93 kg, target is between 79 and 84kg so still some to go :)

I’m down 2.5lb to 11st10. Bike mileage will be circa 65’this week after Sunday. As it gets lighter on nights that will go up and as my fitness approves. Need to start some resistance or lightweight training but I don’t want to join a gym.
