It’s time for a political revolution.
Yaaaaaaaaaawwwnnn!!!
It’s time for a political revolution.
She had a bigger percentage majority than the referendum result achieved, which by your metric the leave vote must be even closer to the nil border.Selected.
Not Elected.
Not even in the ballot!
“ who complained that European leaders had overridden the will of European voters by installing a candidate who had not been floated during elections for European Parliament in May.”
MEPs narrowly backed Ursula von der Leyen as the next President of the European Commission. By 9 votes out of almost 800
“The confidence you placed in me is confidence you placed in Europe," she said after the result.
Narrow then, bordering on nil.
The referendum had vote a or b on it.She had a bigger percentage majority than the referendum result achieved, which by your metric the leave vote must be even closer to the nil border.
In between yawning did you enjoy her speech?Yaaaaaaaaaawwwnnn!!!
So I’m expecting this thread to revive after this mornings announcement.
Keep it friendly chaps.
Yup alls fair in love and war. We're always friendly, unlike our MPs
There's a lot to be said for our poor tax laws. Which is down to the incompetence of the HMRC/HM government being over complicated with too many loopholes. Taxation should be straight forward, every person working in the UK should pay in, every company doing business should pay in. It's immoral not to pay for the education, free health care, transportation (roads/rail) etc of your employees. Maybe the HMRC should state how much the big revenue earners actually pay in, and shame them into paying more.
That much! It'll never be any different while millionaires make the rules up
25 years ago I read the (then) Chairman of the conservative party paid £6000 in tax on a £1m income

So you clearly didn’t watch Theresa’s speech and them all applauding too.... Hammond and all the descenters.I'm looking forward to the announcement as I had a punt of Boris being the next PM months ago.
To be fair I think Hunt would make a better job of it, but Boris is the favourite with the masses.
I just dread to think what will happen if we leave with a no deal Brexit like he seems to be promising.
That's one thing, but shutting up Parliament to do it is something unprecedented.
So you clearly didn’t watch Theresa’s speech and them all applauding too.... Hammond and all the descenters.
They all agreed We’ll be fine under no deal.
Now it doesn’t suit them which is why Boris is screwed from day 1, apart from the fact he’s a diabolical choice in any case.
No-one wants it because the global economy is so fragile that it could send it down.If they think that we will all be fine under no deal, why does no one actually want it?
Why does every single economist in the world advise against it?
Just to get Brexit done?
They should scrap it! For the benefit of the people! This is clearly a case them over ruling the people and cancelling the whole thing before it's too late!
We've got history on this sort of thing, the government went against everyones wishes and went to war with Iraq. They got that wrong, so why not cancel Brexit? as Brexit is clearly wrong!
Regardless of whatever people voted for!
No-one wants it because the global economy is so fragile that it could send it down.
Uk and Eu economies suffer, impacting others.
Economists are clueless as has been highlighted before. Their input is biased garbage.
It’s “so clearly wrong” if youre Against it.
Unfortunately for u more voted for it than against it and it’s so clearly wrong that democracy is being ignored - as even May said in her speech that u have so far ignored, and all her colleagues applauded.
Who has determined it’s morally wrong?Surely if something voted for by the people is morally wrong, the government should overuse it? (if they had any balls!).
We'll take an extreme here as an example. If the public voted that anyone with black hair should be jailed for 20 years for having black hair, the Government would say, "this is ridiculous, it does no one any favours and is morally wrong".
Brexit makes people poorer, could end up costing lives and is therefore morally wrong. The Government should cancel it.
I agree,.....but they are 100% responsible for leaving us in this position. They were putting on a show of solidarity in order to try and influence the EU in negotiations. They didn't believe for one minute that we'd get to this position. The whole "No deal is better than a bad deal" was a slogan to butter up the party faithful and attempt to look tough. The lack of preparation for that eventuality showed that it was never a serious consideration at the time.
They know a lot more about the impact now then then. Dominic Raab now know that a lot of our trade goes through Dover, who'd have thought.
If the UK were a teenager or adult contemplatively the sort of self-harm that Brexit will do to the country there would be an intervention to stop it.
