How would you ever know the answer to that?If a 2T car has been sat in the same place for 2 years it might need another set of tyres or have they been running and moving it regularly.
Is there any explanation why it's 20k and 6 years between services, high end cars do get repaired after accident without insurance involvement so just because it's HPI clear doesn't mean it's not been bumped and been off the road for some of that time.
Is this the only way to tell whether a car has been in an accident?Get underneath and look for anything that looks newer than the rest of it , my B class is a cat c , it was repaired with all new mercedes parts in an approved bodyshop but you can see some bits are newer than others
They had that up for sale when I bought mine in Feb '18. It was up for 24k from memory. I could not live with the light leather or 19" wheels. So I will be buying a 1 owner 09’ 4.7s QP from FTEC Engineering.
Vehicle has just over 32,000 miles and only covered 4,000 since 2014. Now the car’s first 2 year service was at 10,982 miles in 2011 performed by Meridian Modena.
The next service was a major one carried out by FTEC Engineering (Dan) at 31,954 miles in mid 2017. Now the time between services is big and i understand that FTEC bought the car at auction prior owned by a Russian businessman. FTEC service changed all the fluids (engine oil, brake fluid, power steering fluid, coolant, diff oil) all filters and all auxiliary belts.
New p zeros fitted, new battery to correct amp issue, new boot latch, refurbed alloys, resurfaced brake discs to accommodate new pads.
So it is now 2019 and car has been in dry storage and on a trickle charger. Does or should the car need a service based on the time elapsed or is it safe to base a future service off mileage?
Beyond this, is there anything else I should address? Subframe in great condition and no sign of variator problems. Got 12 Auto-protect warranty although probably not great.
Any advice is welcome but note that I am in advanced stages with this! Plus I think a PPI might be a waste of money given FTECs stature in recent years?
You could check paint thickness. Resprayed areas likely to show thicker paint.
But it does look nice, especially the inside. Not sure what people think about 2 year old fluid, even though it hasn't done any miles

I dont mind the light leather and I plan on getting new rims anyway. Has your car been running well? QP?They had that up for sale when I bought mine in Feb '18. It was up for 24k from memory. I could not live with the light leather or 19" wheels.
Yep 58 4.7 s. After I had the variators done shortly after purchase all has been good. Picked her up today from Shiltech after service. No issues other than a loose baffle in the drivers exhaust which Mr Larini will fix for me..I dont mind the light leather and I plan on getting new rims anyway. Has your car been running well? QP?

It’s a nice car. I remember being in it at the Classics at the Castle event in Sherborne.
Probably needs nothing more than an a quick once-over, a lights-and-levels check, plus oil and filter change for peace of mind.
Dealer paid. I caught it really early so no variator damage. Just had the machining so 1k mark. No issues since. It just gave a very slight rattle once on start up so it went in. I knew there was a potential for it so was prepared. How much was the variator work and was your car giving you concern? What mileage ?
Mr Larini will fix you indeed
