Newton,

I know it may seem stupid, and counter-intuitive, but there’s a possibility you are not consuming enough calories, and that by eating slightly more, you would actually lose weight quicker.

My own experience is that if I reduce my food intake too drastically, my body seems to think my throat has been cut, that lean times are ahead, and that it has to do everything it can to preserve the fat stores. So this means I feel knackered all the time, I’m likely to exercise less effectively, and just generally feel flat and lethargic... However, if eat just a little bit less than normal, and maybe increase how much I burn through exercise, this works much better (and I feel a thousand times more energetic)....

I‘m not a doctor, and may be talking nonsense, but as a big(ger) bloke, 1200-1500 calories a day seems too low for me. It may be worth experimenting with upping your average calories to be more like 1750, and just making sure you are doing a bit more walking / other exercise (only to a level that gets your heart rate elevated and a light sweat)...

I don't disagree with that Jon, I'm trying to overcome many years of overeating and secret eating, denial of any problem and much more besides; I can blame a good deal of it on the Asperger's but not by any means all of it. What I am doing very well at the moment is introducing portion control, getting my stomach to be satisfied with less like the sandwich scenario today. I am also noticing that I'm not hungry ALL of the time. Yes I plan to ease off a bit as I start to exercise more. I'm On track for where I want to be, 3 stone by Easter would be awesome, this gets me small enough to get into a regular canoe and the start of the training for the challenge...

Good plan - only you know what’s best for you, and your results so far have been incredible!

ok I have found the issue with my foot pain; a 10p size deep blister under the ball of the foot! I probably created it last week and compounded it yesterday wearing the same shoes and walking a long way. Back in soft sole shoes today and coping ok. Lots of short sprints to catch trains.

Great determination gents. It's one of those things that once you start you can't stop, when you see the weight falling off. Always hard to get started. I was 12 stone 5 at Christmas and did my Friday weigh in and now 11 stone 13. Just a bit more.

I'll have a weigh in Wed/Thu, have had almost three weeks alcohol free, no snacks crisps etc. I'm hoping I've lost another 4 or 5 pounds. Muffin top seems to be sudsiding lol. Keep it up everyone :)
