Mostly because the answers I got were along the lines of - 'we've never heard of rolling road damaging anything' and an assumption on their part that they were defending the use of a rolling road.
I have asked them if they can demonstrate that use (or not) of a rolling road was a clear decision for my MOT and that it would have / has been recorded. I'm hoping not.
Also in the rather limited time that MOT stations now have for MOT I very much doubt if they would have considered a drive around test to be reasonable?
I am working on the idea that Id like them to prove they didn't use a rolling road? Rather than I prove they did (more difficult)
I think it a little unfair that an MOT tester may get a hard time for probably an everyday failure of just about every MOT station - but on the other hand right now I'm 3800 out of pocket!
Also highlighting the issue may help others to avoid a similar, though rare, occurrence.
The take away has to be that guidance has been given by VOSA, in the past, to avoid Rolling Road Brake test for LSD vehicles.
