With you on the miles andy, its just you take it into account if youll be using it everyday also, 68k and in 2 years when you sell it could have 90k hence making a big difference to resale value/desirability

I dont use it everyday, i do 5k a year max so for me a higher miler is alright.... If we can call 68k high miles

Ye, agree Dem....It you're a 15k a year person it would soon rack up............Where as 5k a year it makes sense...

I just sold our 2002 Jeep with 60K on the clock, which is fair for the year. This is a Maserati we are talking about and for 2005 68K is high. I realise that the engines can cope with the mileage and the rest of the car will wear, but resale price is a different matter. High miles has to affect the price, otherwise we would all be getting full money for anything, more miles more stuff to replace, or repair, so lower price??

I agree rob, just saying that for someone sho does 5k a year its a good buy but for someone who does 12k (the uk average) its high miles....

It's going to be used as a lower miler for me 2-3 k a year with the odd run around the track and Germany so s high miles car isn't s concern for me tbh

Don't forget about the service history! When I bought my car the only receipts were from the previous owner of 7 months but he had still spent £3.5k on it. I spoke to the last garage that serviced it and the main dealer that did most of the other services, all of who confirmed it was a good un.

When I eventually got copy invoices from the owner between 2007 to 2011 these detailed the amount of work that the car had received, totalling another £13k!

This email was received from the owner in June

I am in the Didcot area. I have reciepts for all the work I have had done and the services are in the book with dates.*The last service was an amalgamation of the 43500 and 56000 mile services on the 28/7/11 at Dick Lovett Maserati. 31000 mile service at 40000 miles done on 14/7/09 with Maranello. 18500 mile service at 16000 miles on 16/11/06*with Maranello. 6000 mile service at 6000 miles on 08/12/05. Also had a service at 27000 miles on 22/5/08 with Maranello.

No mention of the latest services in the advert.

The service history is a bit weird, amalgamation of 43000 & 56000, so that missed one service altogether, does that mean nothing since and it's now at 68K. I would say that's a chequered history at least and no service for over a year???

If you look at the SH on the Ebay advert it doesn't tally with the email I was sent.

Um...

Cobratwin,
Very best of luck mate!! I'm still hunting, I have made a few offers, nothing concrete yet. There are choices out there, but loads of cars doing the rounds month after month, if you can find a really good one you are lucky, which surprises me being Maserati. Lots of dogs and well worn examples, but they still expect top money and more in some cases???
Cheers

If they would take a few grand less I would have it, compared to some on offer that's a good one, but at a price.

£20k for an 18000 mile 2006 car is cheap. A 30000 mile facelift 54 plate private goes for around £18k.
