Not sure on the cheaper fixes reasoning....the only key saving I can think of that is specifically related to the 3200 and not of benefit to ownership of both is the throttlebody. The 'additional' costs of the 3200 are really just belts and chains, and they still stand.I think there are various reason for this Dem/Andy , firstly that many 3200's are disappearing , either being shipped out to OZ , or being written off , in my 4 years of ownership there are certainly a lot less forsale on a regular basis , 2ndly and possibly due to the more recent discovery of cheaper fixes for the 3200's in herrent problems , they can now be run on the same budget as a 4200

I think it's more in line with your first comment on there being fewer available, and also increasing disparity between cheap 3200s that should be avoided, and those at the top end that have been well maintained – the latter have been holding their value well for a year or two now. Obviously, having owned both at the same time, I would also be well placed to say that the 3200 is the better choice than the 4200 too
