You still got?Ford RS200 all the time at petrol stations with clam up filling it up, with most people asking "what's that mate a kit car" or "some Japanese thing", I tend to go along with it and say its a kit car, although pleasantly every now and then someone does say "you don't see many of those on the road" which then leads down the Group B memory lane chat

You still got?
yes I still have the beast, I give it a blast every now and then and certainly brings a grin to your face
Not sure where you're based, but there was a guy in East Hanningfield, Essex, who had two RS200's, and white one (obviously) and a much rarer red one.
Both absolutely mint. He live near the pub I used to play football for, and one Sunday lunchtime after a game we were treated to the sight of 6 of them all parked up side by side. Sadly before the days of camera phones.
I’m really new here, brand new in fact as of today my names Charles and I bought a 4200 last year and love it. Haven’t actually driven it much as it needs some work, hence why I joined! But I had a similar experience to you. Not as dramatic as losing friends but I did receive comments/concern from family/friends when I bought it with a car loan last year (it’s all mine now ) . The main comments I received were positive and negative lol. Mainly it’s a nice car, I just hope you haven’t made a bad financial decision with the car loan! I mean I get it, they aren’t car people and were concerned for me. But not what you want to hear when your forking our a monthly payment which even I was concerned about at the time lol! Fortunately it’s all mine now and they are all happy for me! But apart from that all pretty positive when I’ve been out in it. Mainly from the older generation asking me if I’d take them for a spin but even a few younger kids liking my loud exhaust noise as drive by! Look forward to getting to know you all a little better. Hopefully have some pics soon to share once it’s had some more work done!Sadly I have received/heard a fair amount of negative comments which I can only put down to jealousy perhaps, for example some kids in a Wiltshire town shouting "poor mans ferrari" from the pavement... quite recently at the petrol station nearby I was inside paying while my partner sat in the car and some guys walked past commenting on the size of my cock owning such a car - as the windows were open I think she told them to **** off (or something along those lines) - even overhearing a couple who looked like they were in their 60's muttering that "those two look too young to own a car like that" while pulling a screw face at us... people really need to get over themselves but I think some are just so consumed with competition they just cannot control their mouths (you have something that they don't so they have to make a ****** comment type mentality)
That said when I first bought the car two people who I considered close friends at the car had such a vile reaction that I slowly started distancing myself from them (sort of event which proved who my friends were as the rest of my friends and family absolutely loved it and were happy for me)
Anyway sorry to put a negative spin on it but there are always two sides to these things

Had something similar with Alex's family when I got my 4200, as they always thought they were better than me as I was from Essex
"How could I possibly afford a Maserati?" etc etc etc.
When I bought the GTS they were even more put out. Stuck up snobs who think they are so much better than everyone else when the reality is, they haven't a pot to p*ss in as it turns out.
