It's too much competition... certain people get so consumed with what other people have or achieve that it eats them up inside turning them into quite bitter people... I'm sure we all have a twitching neighbour or a bad friend who is the same

Also you can't suddenly stop being from Essex mate... I mean it's not such a bad place and you have **** loads of z-list celebraties :)

Essex is lovely. Having lived in Kent for the last 6 years I would say Kent is more like the Stereotypical Essex person than the people in Essex!
TOWIE has a lot to answer for!

Welcome to the forum Charles.

Yeah people are strange... there was no reasoning and one of the two went as far as suggesting that I have mental health problems - needless to say we are no longer on talking terms but it wasn't just about me buying a maserati and good riddance!

I remember posting about it on here and I believe it was @conaero who said something along the lines of "these people are not your friends!" and it certainly is true if a friend or family member does well for themselves I am always happy for them!
Thank you for the welcome!

Worse case I had were friends/family telling me they hoped I hadn’t made a bad financial decision as I am still renting a property, and yes; I could of probably of bought a house by now with the money I have spent on purchasing and maintaining/repairing my pride and joy lol. My scenario was nothing more than my friends being sensible and worrying about me. I can’t not agree with them on what they said, it’s just not what I wanted to hear at the time lol.

Sounds like you had a rough time, I guess I really can’t relate to your scenario! I certainly didn’t lose any friends/family from buying my car!

To be honest the only criticism I ever get, including disparaging comments, is from the wife. But as, in general, she disapproves of everything I say, do, buy, eat, drive, drink, or watch on TV then she doesn't count!
She did like me when I bought Bentley Contental. And when I sold it didn't speak for a week or two.
I love her to bits but we have different tastes in cars - she drives Mercedes. I don't! (Though an AMG 63 would be OK)

The ones that annoy me are the ‘experts’. “They’re always breaking down, aren’t they?” “Rust buckets” but the worst for we are kids tear-arsing past in bean-tin Golfs so they can claim to have burnt off a Maserati....

Her indoors occasionally points out that whatever I think she technically could own any part, or everything. She just lets me borrow bits here and there.
Car wise she loves her cars. The problem being if I buy, change any of mine she expects similar treatment. It gets expensive!

As well as being witty, intelligent and handsome, I am also an exceptional cook and a world class liar..... ;)

Both the Maserati and the Citroën C6 seem to get quite a few compliments. Surprised about the C6 as most can't know what it is. I also get a few nudge, nudge , wink, winks when driving the missus's Fiat 500 cabriolet It must be the rarity value that is attractive. Certainly not the pilot.

I used to get people looking at the 4200 I used to own but nothing like the amount of attention a yellow mustang gets , kids taking pictures of it on their phones , I held traffic up for 20s at the lights when this kid asked his dad to take a picture of it , grateful dad said thanks , not sure the driver behind was so happy, miserable ****20180711_122036.jpg

I love the C6, that rear windscreen! Came so close to buying one a few times over the years. Still look like great value having a glance on autotrader. How long have you had yours?

I've had it for 18 months now. It's been great to have something that feels the polar opposite to the Maserati, but while they are cheap to buy, they aren't that much cheaper to run than the Maserati. They can have a few well documented problems but preventative maintenance helps. There aren't that many places that can work on them as most Citroën dealers don't know anything about them.

They can be a real marmite car but I personally love the looks and I don't tend to buy cars that are the default option for most.

Definitely was the AC. Always positive. I was pulled over once years ago in a JPS Lotus Europa, only because the two police wanted to look over the car, phew! Lol

I'm in Surrey, be surprised to see 6 together anywhere these days unfortunately, there a few that still use them in demonstration events in the UK and Europe

Where in Surrey. Feck!

I would love to see one!

What an amazing car and heritage!

Both my cars got a lot of attention. My wife hates it. So pretends to read a paper when we are driving.

I often get people jumping out into the middle of road to take photos of the Noble and then I see them on the internet.

Less so with the GTS. But still plenty of compliments. Everyone loved it.
