Any bets on the price to get a pair of new front pipes made up with 200 cell sports cats? Similar sort of spec to Larini.

Providing we source our own which wouldn't be hard (Mav did this with his 4200) then fitment wouldn't be much at all. Fancy being a guinea pig for it ? :)

You thinking cut out the old cats and weld in new ones, Phil, or an entirely new section of pipe? I'm interested for sure but need to be able to switch back to stock for when I sell it eventually.

Apparently cat quality varies a lot. I don't want no cheapo ebay shite.

It all depends on how hard it is to get the downpipes off the manifold. If it is anything like the 3200 was getting the pipes off the turbo's then it would be like opening up a can of worms. I will do some investigation and get back to you mate.

Getting the manifold off is a bit of a PITA according to Roberto. Ask me how we know...

You probably want to avoid that :)

Phew! Well, one end of the pipes has been quite recently fitted to an x-pipe so should come off easily enough. The other end may be more of a challenge, but not too onerous, I'm sure.

For what it's worth, when I had my cats fitted, my local MD did it and did a fine job. The car had just turned 7 years old and 50k miles at the time and everything came off pretty easily.
They used some new U clamps which they had to source from elsewhere as the Maserati ones only come as a part of the centre section fitting kit. The existing cats are much heavier than the Larinis (or any after market option I would imagine) and the new cats did not require the dual hanging support bracket so this was not used. They also had to slightly re-shape a heat shield section so there was no rattle once it was fitted.
It all went well however and all in, took around 2 & half hours for the X-pipe and cats.

When you come to do this, I would be more than happy to meet up where there's a ramp so you can have a poke around under mine to see how they were fitted if this helps, just let me know.

Very nice Iain, well done. Only thing I would change is the black wheels to Anthracite or Gunmetal - the black wheels are totally lost in all the black bodywork IMHO

I agree... and, dare I say it, maybe a bit of brightwork around the windows? :)

Very nice Iain, well done. Only thing I would change is the black wheels to Anthracite or Gunmetal - the black wheels are totally lost in all the black bodywork IMHO (We have had this discussion before!). Enjoy in good health. Just remember - adding a £2500 bonnet will reduce the value of your car for future buyers by another £2500 so factor in £5k :) Bodywork modded GTs seem to take the longest to sell on AT and PH. Keep it original and maybe upgrade to an MC Stradale in a couple of years ;-)

Hi Mate:

I hear you re the wheels. I have always liked black wheels but I agree they do seem to get a little lost and a contrast would be nice. I agree a really dark grey might be a good idea. But they are part of the MC Sportline pack - but wouldnt that count as modification :(

Re: The bonnet. I agree. its too much for what it is. I personally just like the look of them - always liked vented bonnets. I don't want it to 'pretend' to be a stradale. Its good enough for me as it is.
I think changing the Sat Nav is probably more worth it.

I think you are right changing to an F instead of a Stradale. Strads are stunning cars but I don't think it would be different enough to this to merit the massive cost to change.

would be keen to pick your brains as I get more used to it. Facelift steering wheel makes a big lift to the interior, how much did your buttons cost if you don't mind me asking? I think thats needed - especially on the 1 and R buttons..

Agreed in principle... I even looked in halfords at them. Coincided with the branch manager screaming 'nice looking Masser in the car park dave!'.

My concern is - don't you think they spoil the aesthetic. Where do you mount them? I hate rings on the windscreen.

I remember Chris Bassett used to stick his Satnav suction cup...on the infotainment screen in the Spyder, worked a treat!

£100 on a TomTom. Lifetime speed cameras, world maps, live traffic.

Use your mobile phone and download Waze. Has everything and it is free.

Nice spec. I think it is identical to mine a part from I don't have door handles and wing mirrors in carbon.

But I do have this Sportline handling pack which maybe what they call single rate dampers?
