I was on about this one, which I believe is the real McCoy (or, rather, the real McStradale):

http://www.amarisupercars.com/detail?vid=40434#Amari-TV

That is very lovely...I know a few things have been said about Amari in the past but they do know how to advertise a car....Love the fact they have taken the time to do a video...And a pretty good one at that.

Not a bad price but not as good as the yellow one that Blondie has just bought from Dick Lovett....First one Ive seen under 70k....

I'm going to start tracking the prices on them, I think. The are probably the best 'investment' Maserati around at the moment: good performance and looks, and rare enough to give you a good return on resell.

That's partly what's putting me off the Ghibli; that is, I would probably end up losing 15K or more on resale after 2-3 years.

By way of comparison, after 2 years of ownership I was able to advertise my last GranSport at just 3K less than what it was advertised for when I originally bought it (and I doubled the mileage on it!).

Agree re the Stradale. Ghibli would lose £25k in 3 years easy - it's typical of the sector.

I'd love to know how many Stradales are being ordered with four seats. Could be that the two-seaters will carry less residual value.

I thought all new Stradales had 4 seats..Not a 2 seat option.....The mark 1 was 2 seats only but the new one is 4....

You're probably right, Andy. I had assumed that four seats was an option, but come to think of it when I was playing around online and configuring one I saw no option to have back seats. Must be standard.

In which case I'll be interested to see how the newer four-seaters stand up against the older two seaters.

Agree with this. the extra seats add back about 30kg as Evo quote the new car this move in the test as 1800kg whereas the two seater is 1770kg and the GranTurismo is 1880kg.

About 2-3 years ago the Stradale was sold in the US as a 4-seater. I remember seeing it advertised in a magazine and couldn't work out what was going on. I guess all Maserati have done since is stick the steering wheel on the correct side!

FWIW, a new Stradale in the US was, from what I remember, way cheaper than what we are asked to pay.

Remember that Pat...seem to remember it wasn't the full Stardale...Bits missing over the UK car as well as adding 4 seats..Can not remember what though.

I seem to remember that the US Stradale was less hard-core than the UK one. It had the wheels, exhaust, rear diffuser and some of the other styling parts but I don't believe it had the full tuning, suspension and other essentials.

Thats it...Remember reading that it was not as hard core......Auto only sort of defeats the object.

They tried the GTS F1 in the US for a year in 2009 but it did not catch on. Personally I understand why given I own an auto but it's personal choice.

BB, the press ovber here liked the Auto...Must suit the character of the car better on the GT S....

Ta. I know that most 4200CC owners who upgrade go for the F1 shift but it never suited my tastes hence manual 4200, auto GTS.

Stands to reason that anyone who has bought it does!

I'm glad that Maserati offers a choice but surely the next GranTurismo will go DCT?

Having been a fan of the CC (well, with Formula Dynamics mods) I have to say I find the current Maserati auto box with paddles more than acceptable.
