I'm watching the Graham Hill biography on BBC2 at the moment, a cracking watch for any petrolhead. TG is more like a sitcom.

A couple of years ago, under instructions from she who must be obeyed, I had a clear out of my piles of car magazines, going back 30 years or more. Apparently they were taking up space. I kept interesting ones of course but found not a single Top Gear Magazine was worth keeping. It was all fluff and not enough detail. Having come to this realization I stopped buying TG Magazine, except for the December free calendar issue each year.

Didn't watch it as I don't need to. It's the same every time, nothing new for years. Besides, I don't want to see Clarkson trash a 928. They're epic cars, i've owned 3 including the press 928 GTS that carried the Porsche Uk number THE 928S. Don't care about them trashing a Mustang though.

A car show does not smash up cars deliberately. Especially nice ones that many would be proud to own. Nor should it do this with licence payers' cash.

Sack them all !

Another great racing legends surprising what you learn. I have known John Simsey for years through the Alfa club and never realised he worked for BRM.

Did anyone else notice that the Lotus got new wheels at the start of the second episode? It was fitted with OZ Futuras in the first episode and (I think) the first few minutes of the second episode, then as it was loading onto the ferry it suddenly appeared with early Turbo SE wheels.

Same old formula but I have to say I quite enjoyed it. There were some laugh out loud moments and I will miss the show as it was. I can't see Evans being much good, but I guess we'll see.

As depressing as it may seem, for both of us, I find myself in complete agreement with Benny!

Don't know why they bothered with May and Hammond presenting...the two were like depressed office workers who had just collected their P45s
